Ministry Description

Priorities:  Guidestone Church is a body of believers committed to Jesus Christ, His mission through the church, and the Biblical patter for the church’s ministry in the world.  The mission/purpose statements of Guidestone Church includes a commitment to help every person experience the victorious life in Jesus Christ through three priorities:

Discover the Victorious Life
Live the Victorious Life
Share the Victorious Life

Each staff member should understand this concept fully.  You may read more about this in Guidestone Church’s policy and Procedures Manual.

General Criteria:

Staff members must:

Be an example of personal aliveness and spiritual growth to co-workers and congregation.
Have a strong commitment to pastor’s vision/philosophy of ministry.
Be compatibly with the Lead Pastor’s leadership style.
Be loyal and supportive of the Lead Pastor, supervisors, and church board.
Demonstrate and energy level equal to the tasks of the ministry responsibilities.
Have giftedness, training and experience that demonstrate proficiency in job assignment and ministry goals.
Be willing to be held accountable in the use of time, church finances, and ministry specific responsibilities.
Demonstrate a positive faith and commitment to team ministry by helping other ministries other staff members, and the church as a whole be successful in reaching goals.
Show an ability to acclimate to the ministry and business culture of Guidestone Church.
A spouse (when married) that demonstrates a support of the ministry goals of the staff member and the church as a whole and who positively supports and participates in the life of the church.

 

Position Description:

CAMPUS PASTOR

Purpose – To lead a congregation in fulfilling our purpose of “Living The Victorious Life” through overseeing a Guidestone Church campus.  The Campus Pastor will:

Lead and oversee the Campus location as an “extension” of Guidestone Church by reproducing the overall vision as well as the spiritual and cultural DNA of the Church.
Communicate and re-communicate the vision of Guidestone Church.
Serve as the preacher/teacher for weekend services (and other key gatherings) at the Campus when in tandem with Lead Pastor through hybrid teaching.

Be the primary recruiter of volunteers and leaders for ministries and small groups.
Meet, invest, support, & encourage your campus’ volunteer leaders (Life Groups and Ministry).
Meet with your Ministry Leaders on a weekly basis.
Build community and get to know your campus leaders.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

Desire and passion to serve Christ in the local church.
High Initiative – researching and finding solutions.
Excellent communication skills – verbal (comfortable and confident communicating in front of a group), visual, written, and relational.
Demonstrated leadership experience and strong problem solving.
Flexibility to plan and work on multiple projects simultaneously; effectively manage time and prioritize workload.
Recruiting, building and developing teams.
Positive interpersonal and influence skills.
Preaching, teaching and communication skills.
An understanding of how technology can be used in ministry.
Planning, Prioritizing & Goal Setting
To reflect Christ in your words and actions in your personal life and ministry. You will be looked up to as you model the Christian faith, and the way you live your life should reflect the Gospel (Living lives of holiness, purity, and free from addictions).
In agreement and harmony with the Guidestone Church and the Church of the Nazarene.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:

Experience with a church or para-church organization preferred
Good listening skills, tact, and consensus-building skills.
Passion for creating a service culture
Excellent people skills.
Worship performance skills
