Job description:
Outreach to our community is our first priority. The mission of Chapel of the Cross is to give our lives to be the light of Christ. Matthew 5:16
We have 3 foundational principles that we believe, if we practice them, will help keep us centered on being the light of Christ. They are?
1. Prayer – Be devoted to prayer
2. Power – Expect the power of God to be active in our lives
3. People – Be committed to servant relationships.
As Outreach Pastor to Families, you would be expected to:
Plan and execute family outreach.
Plan and execute age related mid-week activities.
Be creative in reaching new families.
Disciple children and youth to be active followers of Jesus.
Find ways to incorporate children and youth into our worship services.
Work with the Lead Pastor in developing a family ministry budget that includes outreach events and the necessary support for the new growth.
Recruit and train volunteers.
Help the pastoral staff envision and administer multi-generational worship and service opportunities.
Attend Staff Meetings and designated trainings as scheduled by the Senior Pastor.
Help advertise for family and children ministries.
Help the Lead Pastor organize the children and youth departments through volunteer management.
About Chapel of the Cross Church of the Nazarene
Chapel of the Cross is a small church in Anchorage, AK. We have some families with elementary age children currently attending. We are desiring to have creative outreach to the families living around our facility; to build relationships and to love them into the kingdom of heaven. We are currently working on a 5 Year Strategy plan. We are praying over the direction God has for us and where he wants us to go and creating a plan to make sure we get there. Hiring an Outreach Pastor to Children and Families is one of the things we need to do. Anchorage is a city of about 290,000.
