Job-Related Expectations
· You are expected to lead some type of youth meeting twice a week.
· You will need to have a vision for a preferred future of the youth ministry and have the ability to lead the youth ministry in the direction of the vision.
· You need to be able to work well with our volunteer youth ministry staff.
· You will need to be willing to take instruction from the lead pastor.
· You will need to effectively communicate with the parents of our teens.
· You will be expected to show regular church attendance, even to those events that they have no direct responsibilities for.
· Some “extra” responsibilities beyond leading the regular youth meetings will be: – Occasionally providing transportation for teens when necessary.
– Leading community service events.
– Leading fundraisers.
– Serving as a summer camp counselor.
– Leading social events (parties, etc.) for teens.
– Leading outreach events.

Personal Qualifications
· Show evidence of Christian character.
· Be in harmony with our church’s doctrine & beliefs.
· Be willing to join our church in official membership.
· Previous experience in youth ministry as either a paid staff member or as a volunteer is very helpful.
· Some experience in music would be helpful – either vocal or instrumental or both, but not required.
· Abilities in communication needed to be able to adequately teach lessons to teens.
· Need a measure of knowledge of Bible content.
· Technology skills will be helpful, specifically in creating visual aids for teaching.
· Must either have a Bachelor’s degree or are within a year of two of completing one.
· A commitment of at least one year is preferred.
· It is helpful to have experience or show competence in counseling.
· Must be a role model for our teens by your lifestyle and Christian devotion.
· Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Salary, Benefits, Work Week & Date When Needed
· Total Salary: $30,000 annual salary, paid in weekly increments (the youth pastor must pay for his or her lodging and health insurance from this annual salary amount).
· Paid vacation time: two work weeks.
· Minimum time spent in job-related work per week: 25 hours (schedule of hours to be determined).
· Date when needed: ASAP
About Bryan Church Of the Nazarene
We are a church of about 120 people located in the growing community of Bryan/College Station Texas, total population approximately 200,000 plus the student population of Texas A&M (70,000 students).
The youth minister, upon discussion with the senior pastor, could possibly serve in this position while pursuing a graduate degree of some kind at Texas A&M.
