Overview

Overview: wapaknaz is seeking a high-caliber leader of deep character who is relationally strong, quickly adaptive, creative, works both independently & collaboratively. The youth pastor position entails all aspects of youth ministry 6th-12th grades. Secondarily, the associate role will provide an eventual preaching rotation, collaboration for community connection & also becoming a well-rounded ministry leader.

Full Time Position:

· 30 hours+ Youth Pastor/10 hours Associate

Youth Ministry:

• Urgency to bring people into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ
• Develop and maintain positive, godly and nurturing relationships with teens and their families
• Value each teen
• Ensure regular & clear communication between you and parents
• Disciple & Develop Teens
  • Identify & develop junior high & high school leaders
  • Encourage Sunday morning worship gathering attendance & serving opportunities
  • Cultivate Small Discipleship Groups
  • Facilitate Trek Studies
  • Recruit/Develop Youth Leaders
  • Build a team of young adults/adults/seniors as your youth ministry team
• Elevate Wednesday Night Youth Group
• Create Fellowship Opportunities:
  • Quarterly youth events
• Mission Opportunities:
  • Create missional opportunities to engage with our community
  • State/National: Plan, Coordinate and Implement a Missions Trips
• Promote/Participate in NWO Camps/Fall Retreat & NYC:
• Develop Yearly Youth Ministry Goals
  • Create Strategies to Achieve the Ministry Goals
  • Ensure wapaknaz Youth Group remains under the wapaknaz mission, vision and core values
• Foster community relationships with the area schools/students
• Create avenues to funnel teens from the community into wapaknaz and from wapaknaz into our community
• Serve in Pier 252 (K-5th grade) once every 4-5 weeks
• Recruit Teens to serve in Adventure Cove (Children’s Church)
• Encourage/Appear at NWO Pre-Teen Camp

Associate Roles:

• Collaborate with senior pastor or teams concerning Community Connection/Church Growth/Discipleship
• Collaborate with senior pastor concerning sermon series/seasonal services
• Periodically Preaching
• Other Duties to Build and Equip the Body of Christ
