POSITION PROFILE

The Youth Pastor at Williams Lake Church serves as a key leader responsible for the spiritual development and discipleship of middle school and high school students. This role provides vision, leadership, and oversight for all youth ministry environments, while aligning with the overall mission of the church: connecting people with Jesus.

The Youth Pastor is responsible for creating engaging, relational, and Christ-centered environments where students can belong, grow, and take next steps in their faith. This includes building teams, developing leaders, and creating experiences that students want to invite their friends to.

This position works closely with the Lead Pastor and staff to translate vision into action, ensuring alignment with the church’s values and helping strengthen the next generation of the church.

YOUTH MINISTRY

Lead and oversee all youth ministry environments (middle school and high school) Create engaging weekly experiences that are inviting, fun, and spiritually impactful Teach and communicate biblical messages in a clear, relatable, and compelling way Develop a discipleship pathway that helps students take next steps in their faith Build strong relationships with students and families

Create outreach opportunities that attract unchurched students Plan and execute camps, retreats, and special events

LEADERSHIP & TEAM DEVELOPMENT

Recruit, train, and develop volunteer leaders
Build a strong, healthy, and fun team culture
Empower leaders to take ownership of ministry areas
Provide ongoing coaching, encouragement, and care for team members Create clear systems for communication, scheduling, and follow-up

CREATIVE

Help shape the creative direction of youth services and experiences Collaborate on series planning and teaching strategy
Create engaging moments that connect with students culturally and spiritually
Utilize social media and digital tools to connect with students and families Innovate new ideas for outreach, events, and student engagement

OTHER DUTIES

Provide pastoral care and spiritual support to students and families
Be present at key church events and gatherings
Invest in the overall culture and health of the church staff
Meet regularly with the Lead Pastor for vision, alignment, and development Participate in all staff meetings and church-wide initiatives
