Overview
The Trinity Church of The Nazarene is looking for a part-time youth minister with experience in youth ministry. The candidate should also have a Wesleyan-Arminian background in theology. The candidate doesn’t have to be ordained, but should be on a track heading in that direction. All candidates must also be able to supply references and be willing to take a criminal background check. Those involved in The Church of the Nazarene and other likeminded denominations and churches are preferred, but not to the exclusion of others. All applicants must be willing to adhere to the doctrine and principles of The Church of The Nazarene.
This would be an ideal position especially to those who are just beginning to pursue youth ministry. This allows for practical experience in Youth Ministry, exposure to ministry within a major denomination (The Church of the Nazarene), mentoring by a staff of pastors (only if there should be an interest), involvement in a local church in a major and growing city, and becoming a part of a loving, friendly, and caring church family. This will go a long way in filling vacant areas for your future ministry resumé.
We would like the candidate for Youth Ministry to commit to two hours on Sunday morning from 9:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. of onsite ministry and one and a half hours on Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. of onsite ministry. This does not include time invested in lesson preparations, prayer, etc.
All candidates should live within driving distance of Fort Wayne, Indiana.
More than a warm body, we are looking for a youth minister who can lead a Youth Ministry that is focused on discipleship and faith-retention, helping teenagers truly love Jesus, know the Word of God, and be burdened to share their faith with others.
