Next Gen Associate (Children, Teens, and Their Families)

Topeka First Church of the Nazarene is looking for God’s called, gifted, and excited Next Gen Pastor to help us follow His leadership in this present era and into the next seasons of  ministry in the center of Topeka, Kansas.

We are not simply looking for a program manager. We are looking for someone who brings energy, consistency, and heart to our children’s and youth ministries and their families.

This ministry position is full-time, salaried and reports to the lead pastor and board.

The Next Gen Associate will provide spiritual leadership, relational care, and ministry direction for children, teens, and their families.

This role is designed for someone who loves being present with kids and students, building trust with families, and helping people take meaningful steps toward Jesus.  You’ll lead weekly ministries, support and empower volunteers, and help shape a refreshed and sustainable vision for next-generation discipleship.

This role is a great fit for a Jesus-centered, relational leader who feels called to invest deeply in kids, students, and families, enjoying both hands-on ministry and team leadership.

The right person for this role:

• Loves Jesus, grows in his/her relationship with Jesus, and desires to help others follow Him and do the same,
• Is comfortable building relationships with children, teens, parents, and volunteers,
• Thrives in environments where presence, consistency, and trust matter,
• Takes initiative and enjoys helping ministries move from maintenance to growth,
• Is excited to step into a combined children’s and youth role to explore, experiment, and engage the possibilities God might have in store to shape Jesus-encounters through the present and future of both ministries and beyond.

You don’t need to have everything figured out; we don’t but God does!  We value humility, teachability, and a willingness to grow just as much as education and experience. In fact, though we prefer to hire a full-time associate with appropriate educational background (ministry, theology, teaching, etc.), we are willing to discuss a paid internship for any who might not be ready to jump into the deep-end of ministry.
