DISCIPLESHIP & COMMUNITY OUTREACH PASTOR
THE VALLEY CHURCH, PIQUA CAMPUS
JOB SUMMARY
The Discipleship Pastor will serve as the primary catalyst for next steps of discipleship at the Piqua campus. This Director is also expected to live in harmony with the general and special rules of the Church of the Nazarene as stated in the Manual: Church of the Nazarene. We are looking for a full time pastoral staff member who has the capacity to be a leader of leaders.
45 Hours per week & salary is TBD.
THE MISSION
Discipleship:
· Under direction of campus pastor be a driver, organizer, and implementor of the valley discipleship strategy.
· Model discipleship and community outreach in your own life.
· Recruit and equip champions to own the various steps within our discipleship process.
· Recruit and equip volunteers to disciple others.
· Oversee the Journey study— our one-on-one discipleship study.
· Own the launch of Valley Communities. Valley communities are our plan to implement missional communities at the valley church.
· Potentially serve as the upline for our baptism champion.
· Serve on the Sunday morning teaching rotation approximately once per month.
· Build individual ministry and serve teams as needed.
Community Outreach:
· Recruit and equip a community outreach champion to oversee all elements of the community outreach at the Valley.
· Ensure that community outreach becomes a vital part of the DNA of the Piqua campus.
· Be a contagious voice in the area of community outreach and help our people to love Piqua.
· Serve as the point person for connecting events. These are a max of six events per year that gather people together and provide opportunities to reach out to those who do not know Christ.
· Recruit and equip connect event leaders.

An extreme important aspect of this position is the spiritual character and integrity of the individual who fills it. The Discipleship and Outreach Pastor should also demonstrate administrative skills, be a team leader, possess spiritual sensitivity, and exhibit these qualities in everyday life. This pastor must have a love for those outside the church. The Discipleship and Outreach Pastor acknowledges the responsibility to act in the best interest of The Valley Church at all times, and is expected to conduct his/her private and public life in the manner which will not hinder the message of Christ or the mission of the church. Additionally, all pastor, ministers, and directors are to have an experience of salvation, baptism, and sanctification. They are to share their faith, promote the spiritual good of the church, serve the community, and express the love of God to those they have contact with.
