South Point Youth Pastor Overview
The role of the Youth Pastor is to oversee the spiritual development of the youth. The Youth Pastor serves as a member of the staff team and is directly accountable to the Lead Pastor. The Youth Pastor will oversee other ministry areas related to their gifts, abilities, interests, and the needs of the church. 
This is a full-time position with a compensation package that includes salary and housing.  The candidate will be required to successfully complete a background check through the Ministry Safe program.
 
What we are looking for in a Youth Pastor:
– Be a vital member of the leadership team with the heart to lead people to Jesus
– Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading and guiding through active prayer life
– Take responsibility and initiative
– Team player and team builder who focuses on the good of the entire organization
– Stay fit (spiritually, relationally, financially)
– Have a clear call to South Point and a heart for reaching the city with the gospel of Jesus Christ
– Be in agreement with and able to teach The Church of the Nazarene’s Articles of Faith and Covenant of Christian Conduct
 
Preferred:
Ordained in the Church of the Nazarene or in the process of ordination.
 
 
 
Specific Ministry roles:
–  Oversee the spiritual development of the youth
–  Have a vision and direction for the youth group
–  Build relationships with the teens and their families
–  Lead weekly gatherings
–  Lead youth group toward missional opportunities
–  Coordinate SPNaz youth group involvement with district youth activities
–  Oversee fundraising for the group as needed
–  Lead outreach events
–  Be present for church activities (even those not involving youth)
