Youth Pastor

Overview

The Associate Pastor of Youth (APY), a fulltime pastoral position, will oversee the spiritual growth journey for those age 13-18 & Young Adults at Ridgecrest Church of the Nazarene (RC Naz). The APY will be asked to develop opportunities for the youth and young adults to grow in their relationship and service to the Lord.

The APY should: – Model Biblical Priorities.

The APY should represent a growing personal relationship with Christ, demonstrate integrity in words, relationships, and actions, such as:  Modeling strong relationships with family, Committing to a daily time with God, Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity, Developing personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church, Develop and Oversee The RC Naz Youth and Young Adult Ministries.

The APY should be able to preach, teach, lead, organize and facilitate effective youth and young adult programs at RC Naz.

The APY should: implement times of discipleship, service and fellowship to help  students move from visiting to belonging and growing.

The APY should: Develop a ministry plan for the student ministry along with pastoral staff , Plan and commit to meaningful weekly gatherings, outreach events and service projects, Maintain positive communication with students and parents, Help integrate youth ministry into church life, Recruit and train volunteer youth staff, Assist in managing and oversight of the youth ministry budget and finances,     Provide opportunities for all ages (Jr and Sr high) to experience growth in their relationship and service of the Lord and to others, Support the Church-wide vision and mission of RC Naz and participate in overall church ministry, Participate in weekly staff meetings, worship gatherings and special meetings and events.

A Working Knowledge of basic technology. If not a working knowledge, a willingness to learn.

APY is expected to progress towards ordination in the Church of the Nazarene if needed, and to participate in district events & ministries when possible.

Bonus If This Applies: If one is able to lead in Worship Music, with the ability to play guitar or Piano/Keyboard, there are other arrangements in salary to be offered.
