Overview

Responsibilities…..

  • Oversee all ministry activities for children (ages birth-6th grade), including Sunday mornings, Wednesdays and special events.
  • Teaching and preaching at children’s worship services.
  • Develop and lead the preparation of age-appropriate curriculum for each age level.
  • Create programming and engaging activities for each age group that facilitate learning and encourage spiritual growth.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule teams of children’s ministry volunteers.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee special events such as Christmas Store, VBS, Camp, Easter Egg Hunt, Bible Quiz, and operating our Shekel Store.
  • Share the gospel and help children begin their journey to living the Jesus life.
  • Provide Pastoral care to children and their families in the Church including hospital stays and family emergencies.
  • Manage smooth check-in procedures on Sundays & Wednesdays and track weekly children’s ministry attendance.
  • Establish and maintain security procedures that protects children in our church’s care.
  • Explore emerging technologies that help engage more volunteers in the ministry of children’s ministry
  • Create opportunities for kids to serve the Lord by serving others in the church and community.

Salary Package is dependent on experience.

About Porterville Church of the Nazarene

Porterville is a rural town nestled next to the foothills with a population of approximately 70k.  We are about an hour away from the beautiful Sequoia National Forest and just over a few hours away from the Pacific Coast Beaches.

Port Naz is a healthy church with approximately 500 in our Sunday morning worship, along with a large following of online viewers.  Our Sunday School (Discipleship Hour) has a large variety of classes and bible studies for all ages with an average of over 200 per week.
