Ministry Description: K-3 Pastor/Director

Location: Parkway Church on the Mountain
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The K-3 Pastor oversees all aspects of ministry for children in kindergarten through third grade. This role is focused on fostering a vibrant, Christ-centered environment for children and their families. The K-3 Pastor is responsible for developing engaging programming, managing volunteers, and ensuring a seamless experience for kids on Sunday mornings and during special events.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Vision
Cast vision and provide leadership for the K-3 ministry in alignment with the church’s mission.
Recruit, train, and lead a team of volunteers to support Sunday morning services and special events.
Develop and implement strategies for effective communication and discipleship.
Sunday Morning Programming
Oversee worship, games, and teaching for Sunday morning services.
Prepare sermon content and gather necessary props and materials for games and lessons.
Lead the kid’s worship team and select age-appropriate songs.
Volunteer and Parent Engagement
Schedule and communicate with volunteers, ensuring proper training and encouragement.
Conduct follow-up with parents and new families to build strong connections.
Send regular emails and updates to volunteers and parents to keep them informed.
Event Planning
Plan and execute large-scale events, including Summer of Spectacular Sundays, Easter Egg Hunts, and Candy Land on the Mountain.
Create monthly stage designs and keep spaces organized, including the prop room and prize cart.
Administrative Duties
Manage and maintain the play area and other ministry environments.
Stock and organize supplies, including small group materials and the prize cart.
Participate in leadership team meetings and collaborate with other ministry leaders.
Develop and maintain the ministry budget.

Qualifications

A deep love for Jesus Christ and a heart for children and their families.
Bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, or a related field (preferred).
Previous experience leading a children’s ministry or similar role.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
