POSITION DESCRIPTION PARKVIEW CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE   PASTOR OF WORSHIP ARTS AND MEDIA Overview The Pastor of Worship Arts and Media has two primary responsibilities: 1.) Plan and direct the music and service schedule for all worship and special services. 2.) Manage all social media and advise on marketing strategies.  This full-time position reports to and is under the direction of the Lead Pastor. Qualifications for the Position 1.     A minister or lay leader who has demonstrated by testimony and lifestyle that he/she believes in and practices holiness of heart and life, as understood in the Wesleyan tradition, and lives in harmony with the doctrines and polity of the Church of the Nazarene. 2.     Possesses demonstrated skills and experience in vocal and instrumental music sufficient to expand and lead a quality worship music program. 3.     Possesses demonstrated skill and experience in leading and inspiring enthusiastic participation of a multigenerational church in corporate worship. 4.     Possesses sufficient understanding of media associated with worship and communications, namely sound, video and lighting, and graphic design. This is necessary to direct an effective music program. 5.     Has demonstrated leadership skills to inspire, motivate and train lay persons to participate in ministry. Duties and Responsibilities: Worship 1.     Prepare the agenda for all worship services including congregational singing, instrumentation, praise team participation, choir, video, announcements and all other activities in the service under the direction of the Lead Pastor. 2.     Lead the congregation in worship, inspiring by example. 3.     Recruit quality musicians and vocalist to serve and inspire the congregation with their expressions of worship. 4.     Direct the choir and give spiritual guidance to all members of the Worship Arts Team. 5.     Provide leadership in developing youth and children’s choirs, incorporating their participation periodically into worship services. 6.     Lead the Parkview Worship Arts Team in both musical excellence and spiritual development. 7.     Assess the various media needs (audio, video, lighting) and advise the Facilities and Grounds Team of media needs. Insure proper maintenance of all media. Duties and Responsibilities: Media 1.     Identify, invite, train, and empower leaders to be a part of the media team. 2.     Serve as primary leader and communicator of media platforms in the church. 3.     Maintain all social media platforms and create engaging content for church’s needs. 4.     Reflect the church and the denomination in media communications. General 1.     Pursue a personal continuing education program that will improve effectiveness in performing the assigned duties. 2.     Participate periodically in visitation to the various needs of persons as directed by the Lead Pastor. 3.     Annually develop an operating budget for the responsible areas of ministry. 4.     Over-see all technology and software programs that are utilized by the church.
