Overview
Olive Knolls Christian School is looking for a Full Time Preschool Director. The PreSchool has about 200 children everyday. These families are mostly from the Bakersfield community at large. We are looking for a fully qualified director who will become part of the overall mission of making Christlike Disciples in Bakersfield. Most of the families in the school do not have a Church home. So the preschool is a mission field on our campus. The Olive Knolls Christian School is a part of the Olive Knolls Church. We are one mission in two organizations.
The Preschool Director is an executive level position who leads with mission for Jesus. It is expected that the Director will be or become an active member of the Olive Knolls Church. It is essential for this position to be a role model and an ambassador for the Olive Knolls Church and the overall mission of the Church.
The basic requirements include 12 units in Early Education with experience in one of the three following choices:
1. HS Diploma + 4 Yrs. Teaching experience
2. AA/S Degree + 2 Yrs. Teaching experience in a licensed child care center.
3. BA/S Degree emphasis in ECE or Child Development + 1 yr. experience in a licensed childcare center.
The preschool director creates policies, manages staff, and oversees daily operations. The director is responsible for fostering a Christian environment that allows children, their families, and the staff to develop to their full potential.
The preschool director is responsible to oversee the daily operations including coverage of all classes and aid positions, developing programs, disciplinary actions for staff and students, fostering a positive work environment, and communicating with all staff and families. Working with our Director of Curriculum to ensure the students are staying up to date with learning styles. Ensure the school meets Title 22 Regulations through the Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing. Other duties include teaching classes as needed, determining spending responsibilities and making admission decisions.
