Job Title: High School Teacher

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate High School Teacher to join our faith-centered learning community at Native American Christian Academy. This role involves educating and mentoring Native American students in a private, Christian nonprofit school that emphasizes hands-on, creative instruction within a supportive communal living environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about holistic education, culturally responsive teaching, and preparing students for life beyond high school through academic, spiritual, and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in assigned high school subject area(s)
- Utilize hands-on, creative, and experiential teaching methods, including project-based learning, discussion, and real-world applications
- Prepare students for post-secondary pathways, including college, vocational training, and career readiness
- Foster a classroom environment rooted in Christian values, respect, and inclusivity
- Support students’ academic, emotional, and spiritual growth
- Incorporate culturally relevant teaching practices that honor and reflect Native American heritage and traditions
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods and provide timely feedback
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to support student goals and development
- Collaborate with residential staff to support students in a communal living setting
- Participate in community life, including shared meals, activities, and events
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff
- Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required); subject-area expertise preferred
- Experience working with high school-aged students
- Commitment to Christian faith and values
- Cultural sensitivity and a willingness to learn about and respect Native American communities
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in multicultural or Indigenous education settings
- Background in experiential, outdoor, or project-based learning
- Experience in residential or communal educational environments
- Experience with college and career readiness programs
Living & Community Expectations:
- Willingness to actively participate in a communal living environment
- Ability to build positive, mentoring relationships with students outside the classroom
- Engagement in school-wide spiritual and community activities
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary based on experience
