Job Description

Key Responsibility: 

The Facility Manager is responsible for overseeing all the operations, maintenance, janitorial, landscaping, and renovations of the campus for Nashville First Church of the Nazarene.

Reports Directly To:  Executive Pastor

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·      Acts as a role model of professionalism in a church environment.

·      Supports the Vision, Mission, and Values of Nashville First Church of the Nazarene (NFCN).

·      Ensures the health, safety, and welfare of all who engage in ministries and events held on the campus of NFCN.

·      Holds in strict confidence all matters pertaining to NFCN.

·      Adheres to all policies and procedures as outlined in the policy manual of NFCN.

·      Plans and manages an annual budget.

·      Responsible for ensuring that all work related to set-up, teardown and cleanup is accomplished fully as requested by building user with all detail.

·      Leads NFCN Facility Management Team meetings.

·      Analyzes and attends to repairs and upgrades as needed.

·      Maintains, updates, and coordinates all work orders.

·      Assists with schedule of facility use and ensures adequate staffing is in place for all setup, attendance, and cleanup.

·      Oversee the selection and coordination of work with employees and/or contractors for preventive maintenance, maintenance, renovation, grounds, and janitorial services.

·      Lead the volunteer team who work on facility projects weekly.

·      Lead, coordinate, prepare for and advertise bi-annual All Church Workdays.

·      Lead, coordinate, prepare for and advertise annual Christmas Decorating Event.

·      Operate a computer and other computerized facilities programs as required. (Planning Center’s Calendar, MicroSoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)

·      Refuel church vehicles, take church vehicles in for maintenance.

·      Attend Sunday morning team meetings and other meetings as assigned.

·      Participate in the security team leadership.

·      Coordinate the assignments of contracted and uniformed security officers.

·      Maintains operation of security camera and equipment system.

·      Perform other duties as required or assigned by the Executive Pastor.

Qualifications:

·      Basic knowledge of custodial duties.

·      Must be dependable and trustworthy.

·      Leadership, Management & Scheduling of facility & team coordination – planning, organizing, orchestrating

·      Must be able to lift heavy objects, work with power tools and landscaping equipment, and drive a vehicle with a small trailer.

·      Willingness to learn and develop increasing knowledge of maintenance and repair work.

·      Excellent communication, human relations, supervisory, and organizational skills.

·      Valid TN driver’s license. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

·      Must treat and speak to others with respect.

Specific Skills Preferred:

·      Ability to read & understand building blueprints

·      Knowledge of hardware (doors, windows, tables, chairs, cabinet, etc.) 

·      Re-keying locks

·      Magnetic lock installation

·      Knowledge of plumbing (toilets, faucets, drains, pumps, etc.)

·      Knowledge of HVAC (Alerton computer program – energy management, chiller, air handlers, condensing units, thermostats, boilers) systems

·      Knowledge of lighting systems – dimmer systems, energy management systems, standard lighting systems.

·      Wiring / electrical skills – (add outlets, lighting, switches, etc.)

·      Cabinet & woodwork designer & maker skills

·      Building skills – commercial and residential

·      Manage teams of volunteers – weekly or seasonal

·      Building construction history – where things are hiding

·      Limited knowledge on vehicles

·      Responsibility, Positivity, Consistency, Learner, Maximizer

Other Job Details:

·      Total hours = 40 per week

·      Holiday & Vacation Pay
