POSTION OVERVIEW
We’re seeking a Youth & Worship Pastor who feels called to build Christ-centered relationships with students, lead heartfelt worship experiences, and engage our local community with the hope of the Gospel. This is more than a job, it’s an opportunity to serve alongside a supportive church family, shape a meaningful worship environment, and mentor young believers in their walk with Jesus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. YOUTH MINISTRY
Program Development: Design and implement youth programs (weekly gatherings, events, retreats, mission trips) that foster spiritual growth and deepen faith.
Mentorship & Discipleship: Build authentic relationships with teens, providing direct spiritual guidance and pastoral care.
Curriculum Oversight: Develop or select teaching materials aligned with our church’s theological values and the practical needs of youth.
Volunteer Training: Recruit, train, and equip volunteers, ensuring a safe, encouraging environment for youth.
Community Engagement: Integrate youth into the broader life of the church and create outreach initiatives that serve Nashville and Barry County.
Administration: Manage scheduling, budgeting, communication with parents, and coordination with the broader ministry team.
2. WORSHIP MINISTRY
Worship Planning: Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to plan and lead weekly worship services and special events, selecting Christ-centered, engaging music.
Team Leadership: Oversee rehearsals; recruit, train, and disciple volunteer musicians, vocalists, and tech/AV teams.
Service Elements: Incorporate testimonies, Scripture, and creative expressions of worship that draw people into an authentic encounter with Jesus.
Platform & Production: Manage service flow, stage aesthetics, and volunteer scheduling to create a welcoming, distraction-free worship atmosphere.
3. CONNECTIONS & OUTREACH
Vision Casting: Develop ways to engage guests and the local community, so more people can encounter Christ.
Community Partnerships: Build relationships with local organizations to better serve Nashville and Barry County.
Church Integration: Support various church-wide initiatives that strengthen community life and spiritual formation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Personal & Spiritual
– A vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, marked by integrity and authenticity.
– Active membership (or willingness to become a member) in the Church of the Nazarene, aligned with its theology and values.
– Passion for relational, small-town ministry that invests deeply in people’s lives.
PROFESSIONAL
Education/Experience:
– A background in pastoral ministry, youth ministry, or worship leading (formal education and/or equivalent experience).
– Willingness to pursue or maintain licensing/ordination in the Church of the Nazarene.
Skills:
– Proven ability to lead worship (vocals and/or instrument), manage diverse worship elements (music, AV, creative expressions).
– Experience connecting with and discipling youth in engaging, meaningful ways.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to recruit and develop volunteer teams.
Administrative & Teamwork:
– Adept at scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating events.
– Collaborative spirit, able to work alongside the Lead Pastor, church staff, and volunteers.
WHAT WE OFFER
– Full-time salary of $28,000–$35,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
