Overview
Overview: This position is responsible for the care and upkeep of all facilities and grounds on the Mt. Chestnut Nazarene Center property. The Maintenance Manager is expected to work independently with integrity, multi-task proficiently, adhere to deadlines, and communicate regularly with the staff. This position calls for an individual whose life and work ethic is in line with the mission of Mt. Chestnut Nazarene Center – We are dedicated to serving our guests through providing excellence in Christian hospitality.
Physical Requirements: The position demands good physical health. The Maintenance Manager will be required to lift, carry, walk, sit, push, pull and work a flexible work schedule, must be able to move continuously during work hours and able to lift and/or carry 50-75 pounds. Must have a valid driver license.
Duties:
· Use safety precautions in all work functions. Prioritize work based on safety needs, preventing potential liabilities.
· Be on call during events for maintenance emergencies.
· Maintain our water and sewage treatment plants according to DEP regulations and in cooperation with our certified operator.
· Perform maintenance duties to interior and exterior of buildings including but not limited to basic plumbing, electrical, IT, HVAC, construction, remodeling, and other general handyman work.
· Ensure repairs and maintenance are completed to mowers, vehicles, and other equipment. Keeping up to date on all vehicle registrations and inspections.
· Order supplies for maintenance needs, keeping minimum inventory on hand. Seek to find the best prices for materials, keeping budgets in mind when spending.
· Keep barn and garage area organized and free from clutter. Keeping tools and spare parts organized and properly stored.
· Help with event set-up and tear-down as needed.
· Maintain the pool and water slide according to the PA Department of Health.
· Periodic overview of the RV park to ensure operations are running efficiently.
· Provide bids with detailed information regarding upcoming projects for approval from the Center Camp Board.
· Oversee volunteers and ensure all materials and tools are provided.
· Notify Center Administrator when supplies need ordered that are above $500.
· Assist other employees in various functions as needed or directed by the Center Administrator.
Due to the duties required, the Maintenance Manager is expected to live on property in housing provided. All 3 required PA clearances are necessary for employment at MCNC.

Mt. Chestnut Nazarene Retreat Center is the District Center for the Pittsburgh District Church of the Nazarene. Our 80 acre property is utilized year-round as we serve a variety of guests from various denominations to contribute to the growth of the Kingdom.
