Lead Pastor

Kingsburg Church of the Nazarene is a welcoming, family-oriented congregation located in the heart of California’s Central Valley. Situated in the vibrant community of Kingsburg—just south of Fresno—the church serves a growing and diverse region known for its agricultural roots, strong community values, and small-town charm. With an average worship attendance of just over 100, the congregation fosters a relational and supportive church environment where people of all ages are encouraged to grow in faith and community.

Kingsburg Church of the Nazarene is seeking a Lead Pastor who will provide spiritual, pastoral, and organizational leadership to the congregation while helping guide the church into its next season of healthy ministry growth and community engagement.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide Christ-centered preaching and teaching that is biblically grounded, practical, and engaging
• Lead the congregation in vision, mission, and strategic direction in alignment with the Church of the Nazarene
• Shepherd and care for the congregation through relational presence, pastoral visitation, counseling, and prayer
• Equip and develop lay leaders, volunteers, and ministry teams for effective discipleship and service
• Support and strengthen existing ministries for children, youth, adults, and families
• Foster a healthy, welcoming, and spiritually growing church culture across generations
• Engage the local community through outreach, evangelism, and relationship-building
• Encourage discipleship and spiritual formation within the congregation
• Collaborate with the church board and ministry leaders in administration, planning, and governance
• Help cultivate a church environment that is community-focused, family-oriented, and mission-minded

Qualifications and Characteristics

• Ordained (or pursuing ordination) in the Church of the Nazarene
• Demonstrates a clear calling to pastoral ministry and shepherding leadership
• Strong communication skills in preaching, teaching, and interpersonal relationships
• A relational and approachable leadership style
• Ability to lead collaboratively with church leadership, volunteers, and ministry teams
• Passion for discipleship, outreach, and community engagement
• Demonstrates spiritual maturity, humility, integrity, and emotional health
• Experience in multi-generational ministry settings preferred
• Heart for helping churches grow spiritually, relationally, and missionally
