SALARY/BENEFITS

$17,000-$20,000 annual salary based on experience
Parsonage (3-bedroom and 1.5 baths)
Large living area and spacious backyard
Continuing education budget
$6,000 annual youth ministry budget

JOB SUMMARY  

As a member of the leadership team, the Youth Pastor needs to be someone who is on fire for Jesus Christ and passionate about reaching, loving, and making disciples of the youth in the Ironton and surrounding area.  The Youth Pastor will strive to be rooted in relationships with junior and high school students, the majority who come from troubled backgrounds.  Everything from foster care, to juvenile detention, to having parents struggling with addiction.  “Thinking outside of the box” is a critical component of this ministry and the candidate will be challenged to find unique ways to minister to a generation that desperately needs the love of Jesus and His people in their lives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED 

Born again believer with a maturing relationship with Christ through sanctification
A foundational belief in the Doctrine of Holiness
Demonstrated faithful pursuit of leadership characteristics as in 1 Timothy 3.
A strong desire – a “calling,” to serve God in the position.
Able to exercise initiative and judgement as an independent leader.
Possess a passion for Evangelism and Outreach, particularly campus ministry
Able to plan, organize, and implement ministry programs
To able to raise up, disciple and empower lay leaders
Genuine love and solid rapport with young people
Problem solver

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of the Youth Pastor shall include the following:

GENERAL

Attendance at worship service and church events, while encouraging youth to do likewise (lead by example)
Continue growth and development through conferences, reading and exchange of ideas with others

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY

Sustain and develop a comprehensive growth strategy that encompasses High School and Junior High Ministries.
Plan and execute the youth worship service program.
Plan and execute a youth fellowship program on a designated day.
