Hope City Church

A community shaped by Jesus, for the good of the city.

Who We Are

Hope City Church is a new and rebuilding church community in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, within the Church of the Nazarene. We are forming a community shaped by the way of Jesus and sent to live for the good of our city.

Our worship life is rooted in Scripture, prayer, and participation. We are intentionally moving away from performance-driven models and toward gatherings that form people through presence, beauty, and shared practices.

What This Role Might Look Like

This co-vocational role helps shape the worshiping life of Hope City by:

  • Planning and leading simple, theologically grounded worship gatherings
  • Selecting music that is accessible, formative, and congregational
  • Collaborating on Scripture readings, prayer, and liturgical flow
  • Cultivating a participatory worship culture rather than a stage-centered one
  • Developing and mentoring musicians and volunteer leaders over time

This role is flexible, co-vocational friendly, and will evolve as the community grows.

Who Would Be a Great Fit

This role may be a strong fit for someone who:

  • Loves the Church and is deeply shaped by the way of Jesus
  • Values depth, presence, and formation over performance or production
  • Is comfortable leading worship that is simple, reverent, and participatory
  • Is collaborative, humble, and patient
  • Is willing to help build something slowly from the ground up

Formal credentials are appreciated but not required; character, theology, and posture matter most.

Next Step

If this description resonates—or if you’re simply discerning whether this might be a fit for your current season—we would love to begin a conversation.
