JOB TITLE: Youth Pastor
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Youth Pastor is responsible for providing the pastoral care of Middle and High School
students. He/she builds relationships with the teen and their parents and walks alongside them
as the teens grow in their spiritual life and spiritual maturity. The Youth Pastor is responsible
for all youth-centered events and activities.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Lead Sunday and/or Wednesday evening services for Middle and High School students
▪ Recruit volunteers for youth ministries
▪ Set and implement goals for youth ministries
▪ Plan and execute spiritual retreats, mission trips and relationship building activities
▪ Develop leaders, both student and adult, through the core values of the church
▪ Keep teen member data current and track attendance
▪ Be involved in the community to reach out to children
▪ Create an annual budget
▪ Attend events and engage with youth outside of the church as available
▪ Lead people/ teens to live a Christlike life
▪ Attend/participate in Mid-South District events, including: Momentum, TNT, Summer Camp, etc.
MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Meet frequently with pastoral and administrative staff to plan and evaluate
programming with own ministry and church, including Staff Meetings
▪ Support the mission of the church through youth ministries
▪ Other items as needed/directed by the Lead Pastor
