Overview

Our goal for Amplify Student Ministries is two fold:

1- That young people are being consistently pointed toward Christ in safe and fun environments.

2- That the church partners well with parents, as they shepherd their teenager & family.

Basic Qualifications

*Live a Spirit-led life surrendered to Jesus.

*Able to share a salvation experience. (understands sanctification)

*Clearly articulates and desires to serve the Lord in full-time ministry

*Demonstrates personal maturity and work ethic honoring the Lord.

*Holds the status of Licensed or Ordained Minister in good standing with The Nazarene Church  (must be willing to pursue credentials if needed).

*Fit the values, ministry philosophy, and staff expectations of Amplify Church.

Primary Responsibilities

*Shepherd youth (6th–12th grade) deeper in their relationship with Jesus Christ from their first point of contact through initial salvation and into deeper faith

*Oversee and implement the vision of discipleship and evangelism at Amplify Church utilizing creativity, that connects well.

*Reach out to the local schools and attend games, concerts, plays, etc to build trust and relationship.

*Partner with parents and guardians in order to empower them as the primary disciple-makers of their teenager.

*Recruit and develop both adult and student volunteer teams.

*Plan, organize, and lead Youth meetings, services, and events.

*Role requires someone with competence in preaching, teaching, and communicating the Word of God in the context of youth ministry.

*Partner with the Kids Ministry Director, Discipleship Director, and College Pastor to create a planned pathway of retention for students to transition from Amplify Kids to Amplify Students to College Ministry.

*Create a youth ministry culture in which the means of grace are consistently valued, measured, and available to teenagers and parents as well as the larger world.

*Equip the church-community through preaching in the team rotation for Sunday morning worship and other preaching contexts as needed.

*Call and empower the people of the church-community to share in the ongoing work of Jesus according to their gifts and abilities.

*Recruit and develop leaders who will disciple others

*Aid the Lead Pastor and Associate Pastor in congregational care as needed (i.e. administering sacraments, visitation, follow up, giving counsel, etc.).

*Assist the Lead Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Worship Director in leading special services as needed (i.e. funerals, weddings, special service elements, etc.).

*Collaborate with other staff members responsible for content development for the church-community.

 

*Help Students engage in serving on Sunday, on Wednesday, and other serving opportunities

*Involve students in our local missions efforts and also in our global efforts to Guatemala and Belize

*Create and implement the fiscal year budget for Amplify Students in partnership with the Lead Pastor and Executive Director.

Leadership Reporting

*This position reports to the Executive Director, and works with a Family Ministry Administrator, while also working alongside the family ministries staff team as a whole.

*Administrative tasks and responsibilities for student ministry can be delegated as needed to other Family Ministry support staff and volunteers in order to increase capacity and effectiveness in Amplify Students.

*This leader must be able to lead teams of volunteers and not just do the job alone.

*Comfortable leading 100+ students

Amplify Church is a growing church-community South of Raleigh, NC committed to “amplifying the beauty of Jesus into a broken world.” Amplify Church is an 84 year old church that relaunched 4 years ago and currently runs 1000+ on Sunday mornings.

Our events & Wednesday worship services run around 85-90 teenagers. Our current initiative is to build a dedicated sanctuary space giving students & kids a place to spread out and grow in their faith.
