Overview

Priorities:  Guidestone Church is a body of believers committed to Jesus Christ, His mission through the church, and the Biblical pattern for the church’s ministry in the world.  The mission/purpose statements of Guidestone Church includes a commitment to help every person experience the victorious life in Jesus Christ through three priorities:

Share the Victorious Life

Each staff member should understand this concept fully.  You may read more about this in Guidestone Church’s policy and Procedures Manual.

General Criteria:

Staff members must:

Be an example of personal aliveness and spiritual growth to co-workers and congregation.
Be an example for the church in giving of your time through volunteering at the church, talent in giving the best of your gifts to the community of believers, and treasure by being a faithful tither and and modeling generosity.
Have a strong commitment to pastor’s vision/philosophy of ministry.
Be compatible with the Lead Pastor’s leadership style.
Be loyal and supportive of the Lead Pastor, supervisors, and church board.
Demonstrate an energy level equal to the tasks of the ministry responsibilities.
Have giftedness, training and experience that demonstrate proficiency in job assignment and ministry goals.
Be willing to be held accountable in the use of time, church finances, and ministry specific responsibilities.
Demonstrate a positive faith and commitment to team ministry by helping other ministries other staff members, and the church as a whole be successful in reaching goals.
Show an ability to acclimate to the ministry and business culture of Guidestone Church.
Have a spouse (when married) that demonstrates a support of the ministry goals of the staff member and the church as a whole and who positively supports and participates in the life of the church.

 

Position Description:

CHILDREN’S MINISTRIES DIRECTOR

Purpose – To plan, administer, supervise, coordinate an active ministry by and for students from birth through 6th grade

1.   Gather a team of workers to assist with leading the various programs and activities across multiple campuses.

2.   Develop and articulate a vision and strategic plan for Children’s ministries in accordance with the vision of Guidestone Church.

3.   Recruit, train and equip a team of workers (volunteers) for children’s ministries.

4.   Plan and implement a discipleship ministry that will educate children in Christian thought and practice as well as guide them toward Christ in their personal relationships.

5.   Report to and participate in the Christian Life and Equipping Committee.

6.   Provide an` excellent, high energy, Children oriented worship experience (children’s church) during the main worship experience times on location.

7.   Provide childcare for special occasions as necessary.

8.   Provide opportunities and lead local participation in district Children’s ministry events.

9.   Plan, coordinate, and execute other events necessary for the spiritual development of the Children.
