Job Description
We believe Jesus has instructed us to go and make disciples and everything we do at Grace Point Church is to help fulfill the Great Commission. The Director of Media Ministry has a significant role in that process. The Director will help shape our discipleship culture by setting the tone for our worship gatherings, supporting our ministry teams, developing media ministry leaders who focus on the mission, and touching every ministry of the church through media support and engagement. Ultimately, the Director of Media will help us transform lives for the sake of the Gospel by turning every tech related task of ministry at Grace Point Church into an opportunity to minister the presence of Jesus.
The Director of Media Ministry will set the vision for the Media Ministry at Grace Point Church in conjunction with the Lead Pastor. This includes selecting and training coordinators for each of the media ministry teams, maintaining healthy and growing relationships with team members, and supporting the other ministries’ weekly media related needs, especially the needs of the worship ministry.
Primarily, this Director role is for a point leader who is creative, technologically savvy, and loves mentoring and raising up leaders. The person for this role will be successful when they create healthy systems, raise up new leaders, and build sustainable teams. These leaders will in turn oversee the media tech for the worship service including presentation media, lights, sound, video production, and online streaming, as well as media creation for communication and social media purposes.
This role will report directly to the lead pastor, work most closely with the Worship Pastor, and will collaborate with the pastors, administrative staff and many key volunteers serving at Grace Point Church.

Roles and Responsibilities
Relationships
The Director of Media Ministry will build and maintain relationships with team members, making sure they are encouraged, equipped, and empowered to serve. These relationships will be centered around Christ and discipleship discussions will flow naturally and consistently between the Director and team members. The Director of Media Ministry will become one of the primary disciplers of the media teams. They will have a direct working relationship with the Worship Pastor to collaborate on stage design and media support for worship services.
Ministry Tasks
The Director of Media Ministry will make sure that all media ministry tasks are completed with excellence in order to produce a high quality and engaging worship service and online presence including video, sound, lights, and presentation media. They will oversee the media creation for other communications such as sermons, emails, and social media. The Director of Media Ministry will also oversee building technology systems such as internet, security, fire, and telephones. Very little of these tasks should done directly by the Director of Media Ministry. However, the responsibility to make sure they are all accomplished every week with consistency and excellence does. This should be accomplished through investing in and delegating to the ministry coordinators the Director develops.
Leadership
The greatest role for the Director of Media Ministry is to identify, train, and empower ministry leaders in the to do the works of service to which God has called them. These leaders need to be trained as techs not just operators, and given oversight of a small team within the media ministry. The majority of the Director’s time should be spent casting overall vision for the ministry and investing in, supporting, and working with these ministry leaders/coordinators.
Basic Qualifications
·     Prior experience leading and developing teams
·     Excellent working knowledge of major media systems such as sound, lighting, and video.
·     Excellent working knowledge of major media software platforms such as ProPresenter, Photoshop, Canva, etc.
·     Prior experience developing leaders
·     Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
·     Demonstrates good time management skills
·     Understands the importance of excellence in the details of large projects
·     Experience scheduling teams members
Preferred Qualifications
·     5+ years experience leading teams
·     3+ years experience developing leaders
·     Master’s Degree in a related field
·     Certificates or Endorsements in related skills and programs
·     Website development experience
·     Experience installing and troubleshooting media related systems such as LED walls, presentation software, cameras, video switchers, light boards, and light fixtures

Grace Point Church is a growing and friendly community of believers in Ephrata, Pennsylvania, that takes the Great Commission seriously. It is a larger congregation, averaging nearly 500 for in-person worship attendance and nearly 700 including online. Grace Point Church is one organization with many ministry agencies including multiple campuses, a Learning Center for preschoolers at each campus, and Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community.
