Campus Pastor

Grace Point Church of the Nazarene is a family oriented, growing church in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Grace Point ministers at three locations, including two Church Campuses and Mount Hope Retirement Community. It currently averages 470 people in-person each weekend and welcomes 125 online. Grace Point is seeking a Campus Pastor who will invest in a passionate team of volunteers to build its Lebanon Campus.

 

Position Summary

The Campus Pastor provides visionary and pastoral leadership to transform the lives of families at the Lebanon Campus with the Good News of Jesus Christ. The Campus Pastor works within the broader vision of Grace Point Church, leading and developing a ministry team to accomplish a unified vision in a contextualized way. This happens primarily through building a multiplying culture of disciple-making leaders. The Campus Pastor will also serve on Grace Point Church’s preaching/teaching team.

·      Create reproducible systems that outlast the leader.

 

Primary Responsibilities

1. Vision & Strategy for Campus Ministry

·      Give point leadership to the Lebanon Campus, ensuring the team members and parishioners are encouraged and supported in their growth as disciples.

·      Work within the broader vision and mission of Grace Point Church to develop a contextualized implementation plan for ministry to the Lebanon community.

·      Ensure every ministry of the Lebanon Campus is biblically faithful, engaging, and focused on discipleship.

·      Create a leadership development pathway within the Lebanon Campus and through each of its ministries (develop team leaders, small group leaders, coordinators, etc.).

·      Build systems through the volunteer coordinators that are simple, scalable, and reproducible in each ministry area.

·      Partner with other ministry leaders and staff members to contribute to the broader mission of Grace Point Church, across our campuses and events.

2. Stewarding Ministry (not just) Programs/Events

·      Develop a spiritually robust Campus Ministry that invests in and further builds on the current ministries and leaders while looking for opportunities to grow.

·      Assess the immediate needs of the Lebanon community and look for connection points with Grace Point’s mission.

·      Develop healthy age-graded discipleship ministries that include highly effective events and programs but are based on building disciples rather than spectators.

·      Partner with Grace Point Learning Center staff to find ways to most effectively minister to the staff and the 100 families they serve in the Lebanon community.

3. Leadership Development

·      Intentionally identify emerging leaders and create clear steps for them to grow in maturity, influence, and responsibility.

·      Meet regularly to coach and develop a campus leadership team.

·      Help your ministry team to develop apprentices for key ministry roles.

·      Release capable leaders into broader church ministry roles when appropriate.

4. Campus Ministries Alignment

·      Work closely with the Lead Pastor and Ministry Directors to align and support ministries between campuses.

·      Ministries will be aligned in purpose and outcomes toward fulfilling the mission, although the Campus Pastor will need to intentionally contextualize the ministries to best fit the needs and opportunities of the Campus.

·      Align preaching and teaching themes across campuses to keep a common focus on the unified mission of Grace Point Church.

·      Participate in weekly staff meetings and planning sessions with the ministry staff of Grace Point Church as a whole, not just the Lebanon Campus.

5. Preaching & Teaching Team

·      Serve on the church’s preaching/teaching team.

·      The Lebanon Campus is a mix of live preaching and video deployment. The Campus Pastor will preach about twice a month with other pastors rotated in both live and on video.

·      Support sermon series development and theological alignment.

·      Model clear, biblically faithful communication.

 

Required Qualifications

·      Humble team player who is passionate about leading a campus to develop and deploy disciples of Jesus Christ.

·      Demonstrate a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

·      A love for the Church of the Nazarene and strong alignment with its doctrine and mission.

·      Demonstrated experience leading, developing, and building teams and leaders.

·      Effective communicator in preaching, teaching, and leadership settings.

·      A willingness to partner with the staff and follow the leadership of the Lead Pastor while working to fulfill the mission of Grace Point Church.

Preferred Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s Degree in a related field

·      District Licensed or Ordained minister in good standing

·      3+ years of experience in pastoral ministry

·      A spiritually healthy and growing Campus Ministry evidenced through salvations and baptisms, while increasing the number of people serving, attending, and being developed as leaders.

·      A visible and functioning leadership pathway within the Lebanon Campus’ ministries producing passionate, mature, and biblically faithful leaders.

·      Strong volunteer retention and development.

·      Evidence of leadership multiplication across the next generation.
