Fulltime associate position with a main focus on youth ministry. This would include, as time and opportunity allows, general pastoral duties such as shepherding, counseling, mentoring, and assisting with leading services. The associate joins a team of staff who collaborate with the lead pastor with overseeing and giving vision to the general church.

Specific duties/expectations include:

· Overseeing the church youth ministry.  Currently our church defines youth ministry by 7th-12th grades and a college ministry. Within the church this includes planning and executing weekly youth group, outreach events, spiritual growth opportunities,   providing counseling opportunities, and maintaining the youth ministry budget.

· Helping teens connect with the whole church in regards to Sunday service participation, church outreach events, fellowship events, etc…  We desire our teens to be connected with the church beyond youth group.

· Engaging with our teens in the community (attend sporting events, recitals, etc…)

· Having consistent office hours established around your schedule.  Proper office hours will be needed for staff meetings, collaboration with the lead pastor and other staff, and availability to meet with church members/parents.  Office hours will be flexible, and considerations will be made for large events (camp, retreats, big activities).

· Associate is expected to progress towards establishing/transferring ordination with the Church of the Nazarene, and participate in district events and ministry as God provides and directs.  This includes camps and conferences offered by the COTN.

· Associate is expected to maintain a personal relationship with Christ, maintain personal devotional times outside of ministry, and have accountability partner(s).

· Included with an established salary will be adequate paid vacation, and an appropriate amount of sick/personal days to maintain a healthy ministry and avoid burnout.

· Mentoring/training can be provided for those new to youth ministry, as well as opportunities for preaching development if desired.

Albany is a city of around 60k population, located in Oregon’s beautiful central valley.  Many outdoor activities are all around us, as we are just an hour away from the coast and mountains.  Grace Point is a growing multigenerational church of around 200+.
