Encouraging our community toward wholeness in Jesus
Executive Pastor of Systems and Operations
Position Overview
Grace Church of the Nazarene is a growing, focused church passionately committed to our mission: encouraging our community toward wholeness in Jesus. As Grace Church works to steward both spiritual and numerical growth, we are seeking an Executive Pastor of Systems and Operations to help navigate this season with wisdom, clarity, and faith.
This role requires both a pastoral heart and executive leadership capabilities, ensuring that the systems, structures, and operational foundations of the church are strong, healthy, and aligned with the mission. The Executive Pastor of Systems and Operations balances a people-first approach with strategic operational leadership, building environments where ministry can flourish, leaders can thrive, and the church can more effectively reach our community.
By strengthening systems related to buildings, budgets, and technology, this role removes barriers to ministry and creates pathways for discipleship, connection, and life change—allowing pastors, staff, and volunteers to focus fully on people.
Core Responsibilities:
Systems Engineering and Oversight
Lead and develop clear, people-centered systems with staff and lay leaders to strengthen ministry, remove barriers, and support spiritual growth across key areas like assimilation, leadership, volunteers, care, and technology.
Building & Facilities Administration
Oversee and optimize church facilities and operations to ensure safe, effective, and mission-aligned use of spaces while stewarding resources wisely.
Budgeting and Financial Systems
Steward financial systems and budgeting processes to ensure transparent, accountable, and mission-aligned use of resources that supports wise decision-making.
Technology Strategy and Systems Management
Help create technology systems that are secure, scalable, and easy to use, equipping staff and volunteers while enhancing communication, collaboration, and ministry effectiveness.
Qualifications
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ who embraces the mission and core values of Grace Church of the Nazarene and the doctrines of the Church of the Nazarene.
- Mature Christian character, pastoral wisdom, and a collaborative leadership style that builds trust and unity.
- Demonstrated experience in administrative leadership, systems development, facilities oversight, budgeting and financial planning, and technology management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to think strategically while executing practically.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to lead staff, volunteers, and cross-functional teams effectively.
Key Competencies
- Systems Thinking & Design: Ability to create clear, scalable systems that serve mission and ministry.
- Operational Leadership: Skill in managing complex operations with foresight, excellence, and calm leadership.
- Financial Stewardship: Strength in budgeting, forecasting, and financial accountability.
- Technology Integration: Wisdom in leveraging technology to enhance—not distract from—ministry.
- Team Development: Ability to equip, empower, and encourage staff and volunteers toward effective ministry.
- People-First: A relational posture that prioritizes people.
Why This Role Matters
This role sits at the intersection of vision and execution. The Executive Pastor of Systems and Operations ensures that the behind-the-scenes infrastructure of Grace Church actively supports life transformation on the front lines of ministry. By strengthening systems, stewarding resources, and creating healthy operational rhythms, this role directly enables Grace Church to reach more people, care more deeply, and move more faithfully toward its mission of encouraging our community toward wholeness in Jesus.
For the right leader, this is more than an administrative role—it is an opportunity to help shape the future of a church that is growing, outward-facing, and deeply committed to seeing lives changed by Christ.
