Purpose:
To lead and disciple middle and high school students (and possibly college-age young adults), helping them grow in their relationship with Christ, integrate into the life of the church, and live out their faith in everyday life.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship
Plan and lead weekly youth services, Bible studies, and small groups.
Provide sound, biblical teaching that’s engaging and age-appropriate.
Foster spiritual growth through prayer, mentoring, and discipleship.
2. Relationship Building
Build authentic relationships with youth and their families.
Be present at students’ extracurricular events (games, concerts, etc.) as time allows.
3. Ministry Planning & Execution
Organize events such as retreats, mission trips, camps, and service projects.
Collaborate with church staff and volunteers for cross-generational ministry opportunities.
Develop and manage the youth ministry budget.
The ability to preach a Sunday sermon.
4. Volunteer Development
Recruit, train, and shepherd youth ministry volunteers and leaders.
Create clear roles, expectations, and support systems for volunteers.
5. Communication
Keep parents informed and engaged in the ministry.
Maintain regular communication through email, social media, and church platforms.
Coordinate with church staff to align youth ministry with the overall church vision.
6. Administration
Maintain records of attendance, events, and student information.
Ensure all youth ministry policies are followed, especially regarding safety and background checks.
