Youth Director
The Faith Church of the Nazarene in Parish, NY, seeks a part-time youth Director. This is a trial ministry of 1 year with an opportunity for renewal for the following year.
Responsibilities Include:
Leading youth Sunday School class (ages 12 -18)
Engagement of youth and young adults in Upstate NY Nazarene district events
Occasional Pulpit supply – can be a youth-oriented service provided on 1-3 Sundays a year; more if desired to preach more.
Lead and establish a workable youth Group.
Engage with youth in the Parish Community.
Prepare youth events and fundraisers for youth/young adult ministries.
Report any issues or concerns to the lead pastor.
Write a monthly report to give to the Pastor
Salary: (Flexible schedule except Sundays)
This is a part-time ministry opportunity with an opportunity for growth.
The candidate must be willing to live or be around the community of Parish NY (No parsonage or stipend for housing yet), or regularly commute to the Parish community.
This is 14 hours a week at $15 an hour.
Must attend Sundays, youth group nights, and special event days.
The candidate will find bi-vocational work easily (30 minutes from Syracuse, NY)
The congregation is very welcoming
Being part-time and being reliable is necessary. (it helps with outreach and interaction with the community)
Requirements:
Must pass a background check via Ministry Safe.
Be a born-again Christian and support the Church in Christian conduct
Must proclaim heart holiness and have a teachable spirit.
Must set safety boundaries with youth and others.
Connect with the family of the youth.
Must be respectful and committed to the ministries at the Parish Faith Church.
A desire to minister to the 12-18 age group.
