Job Description
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Ministry Team Lead
DIRECT REPORTS: N/A
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Staff Minister:
-
- Embrace the FVCN philosophy, vision and mission as defined by leadership.

- Participate in a connect group associated with FVCN and its mission.
-
- Pastor your ministry area through visitation, calls, and follow-up.
-
- Provide pastoral care and exhibit genuine Biblical accountability to those in your ministry purview.
-
- Recruit, train and deploy lay persons into your ministry areas.
-
- Participate in required staff meetings.
-
- Assist the Pastoral staff with any miscellaneous roles as assigned by the Executive Pastor.
-
- Achieve professional growth through continuing education, appropriate conferences, retreats and research.
Associate Pastor/Director of Children’s Ministries – Fairview Village Church Pottstown Campus

- Execute the Kids in the Village Weekly Worship Service/Groups
-
- Communicate OOS (Order of Service) Containing music, teaching, games, social space, small group time, etc.
-
- Help research and develop curriculum that is relevant to the age group.
-
- Implement small group discussion questions/activities.
-
- Help develop and execute relevant corporate worship (music/singing, dancing, etc.)
-
- Research group games, upfront games, team building exercises, etc.)
-
- Benchmark churches that are comparable in size and churches that are larger to research common practices that will promote growth within your ministry.

- Execute the Kids in the Village Weekly Worship Service/Groups

- Recruit and Lead Volunteers
-
- Implement the vision to high caliber volunteers that entice them to serve Jesus in children’s ministries
-
- Ensure all volunteers have current background checks on file.
-
- Maintain a minimum of 2 volunteer group leaders per small group.
-
- Recruit volunteers to run different parts of the service (i.e. game leader, worship leader, etc.)
-
- Meet with volunteers weekly before each service to discuss the service and upcoming events.
-
- Give small group leaders the scripture and discussion questions mid-week so they have time to prepare to lead their small group.
-
- Keep volunteers informed of upcoming events through weekly emails.
-
- Give volunteers often a platform to voice concerns and suggestions.

- Recruit and Lead Volunteers

- Plan and Execute events such as SplashFest (VBS)

- Strategically plan events that are outreach oriented.

- Keep events planned out 18 months in advance.

- Coordinate with the family ministries admin to get events on the church calendar.

- Coordinate with the communications director to promote and advertise events.

- Manage budgets and cost.

- Recruit adult volunteers for each event.
-
- Ensure all participants have signed a medical release form BEFORE any event.
-
- Recruit a Director that you will oversee and train for Splashfest kids summer camp (VBS).

- Plan the week’s schedule and events

- Ensure that students that have been absent do not go unnoticed.

- Bring students and leaders into the assimilation care process through the New Here Family ministry.

- Visit volunteers and students in emergency situations or hospital

- Contact people in this age group that have been absent for 3,6, 9, or 13 weeks.

- Contact people in the age group when they have visited 1, 2, 3, and 4 times.
-
- Implement and maintain a process of assimilation and care.

- Coordinate and Oversee the Nursery (Birth through Pre-K) in Children’s Ministry.

- Recruit and coordinate leaders for the nursery areas

- Help leaders recruit and coordinate volunteers for Nursery on Sundays
-
- Maintain monthly nursery schedule
-
- Send out reminder emails/calls weekly for volunteers scheduled
-
- Help train and give orientation to new volunteers
-
- Oversee communication to parents and volunteer within the nursery
-
- Oversee Nursery Move-Up in the Fall
-
- Coordinate and Oversee the Nursery (Birth through Pre-K) in Children’s Ministry.
Participate in Team and Staff Events

- Create and keep a current aspirational organizational chart for your ministry areas

- Maintain an average of five (5) personal weekly pastoral visits

- Must be professing Christian in word and deed

- Comply with FVCN employee manual and Staff Playbook

Environment Conditions:

- Works primarily indoors

- Occasional exposure to lifting, steps, stairs and uneven surfaces
-
- Reviews: Annual, with bi-annual updates.
