Erin Church of the Nazarene is located in Erin, TN, about 1.5 hours west of Nashville.  This rural congregation has been strong, steady and dependable for generations and has been experiencing a growing season over the past year or so.  Our Church is deeply invested in the community and has within its membership major leadership roles involved in a wide array of ministry minded responsibilities in our area.  We preach and live out a life of service to our community.  Sunday morning is busy with 3 services, though this position’s primary focus is the 9:00a service.  Our least seasoned staff member has been here 11+ years while the other two full time pastoral staff members have been here 14+ years so this is a location that appreciates longevity when possible.  We have an administrative support staff member and a 2/3 time Director of EKids/PreKids which helps students develop socially, academically and spiritually before or just after that have started school.  This is a rural context with only 8500 people residing within the county.  Rural experience is not required but an understanding of rural context dynamics is preferable.

Position Summary
This is a new position so there will be some flexibility is creating the scope of work and schedule.  However, this is what will be expected; This Worship Pastor/Director will lead a Christ-centered Worship service for our 9:00 service each Sunday while also giving direction and supporting where needed in the 11:00 service.  The church has a paid intern on staff who is leading student ministries worship services on Wednesday evenings and it would be expected that this role would speak in to and foster growth within that intern position as well.   This role will be expected to design and facilitate music within worship services that contain theological depth and musical creativity to bring about an atmosphere in which the congregants can easily participate in praising the Lord for what He has and is doing.
This position will also oversee the recording aspects of the services to ensure a high quality product is available to those who lead ministries for our radio and YouTube broadcasts.  This will require a working knowledge of sound systems and the ability to mix various input levels for a high impact recording.

Key Responsibilities
1.    Facilitate worship by leading our full band each Sunday morning
2.    Encourage, train and grow new band members and vocalists
3.    Create worship sets that are both culturally relevant and theologically sound
4.    Incorporate musical genres that appeal to people from varying stages of life and maturity
5.    Pastorally care for those involved in worship and arts ministry
6.    Help maintain a social media presence by
7.    Equip the up-and-coming intern(s) as needed

Qualifications
– A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to worship ministry.
– Strong theological grounding or an education in process with the ability to communicate biblical truth clearly and relevantly.
– Proven experience leading worship with adults.  Experience with teens is appreciated and will help in creating a well rounded understanding of leading worship.
– Confidence in leadership while remaining approachable, flexible, and collaborative.

Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, or related field preferred (seminary a plus)
