Children’s Pastor & Communications Director

Summary of Position:

The Children’s Pastor is expected to champion and contribute to the church’s mission to Love God, Love People, and Serve our World. This key role requires you to work with paid staff and volunteers to develop a welcoming and worshipful atmosphere. What we are looking for most is a person called to ministry, who will work hard, be a team player, and can disciple others to grow in their faith and their ability to lead for the Lord. We are not looking for the best person, we are looking for the right person.

Children’s Ministry:

 

• • Coordinate and plan lessons for Sunday and Wednesday Nights

 

• • Organize and upload curriculum for Children’s Ministry volunteers

 

• • Ensure that all volunteers have what they need for each class

 

• • Schedule & Recruit Volunteers

 

• • Lead Safety Training for all new volunteers

 

• • Regularly connect with families and volunteers, through various means

 

• • Maintain the D1Kids Facebook Page

 

• • Lead/Plan Vacation Bible School

 

• • Lead/Plan Children’s Christmas Program

 

• • Attend Children’s Church Camp each summer

 

• • Preach 2x per year

 

• • Other duties as assigned

 

 

Communications:

 

• • Improve the quality and regularity of our creative communication both in-person and online.

 

• • Manage, design, and distribute physical/digital/social media communications to relay important information about the vision, mission, and operations of the church.

 

• • Develop graphics for announcements and updated information each week.

 

• • Create content as needed under the direction of the Lead Pastor and Executive Pastor for announcements and sermon series.

 

• • Proactively involve others in this ministry area.

 

 

Staff:

 

• • Attend and participate in all staff meetings.

 

• • Participate with the lead pastor in a long range service planning meeting.

 

• • Take part in a creative planning meeting to help plan sermon series and special events.

 

• • Help recruit and train people for leadership and hands-on ministry.

 

• • Complete other duties as assigned by leadership.

 

 

Requirements:

 

• • High school diploma or GED

 

• • 2 years ministry experience or College Degree in related field

 

• • History of leading multi-generational teams

 

• • Someone that is continually growing in their walk with Christ

 

• • Ability to maintain levels of confidentiality when managing sensitive situations

 

• • Strong work ethic

 

• • Integrity in all areas of life (Relational, Financial, Spiritual)

 

• • A team player
