Associate Minister of Worship and Family Life Job Description
PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The role of the Worship and Family Life Pastor is to provide leadership and oversight to both Worship Arts and families with children.
STAFF RELATIONSHIPS
Staff Meetings – attend staff meetings. Be prepared to report ongoing ministry activities. Serve as an integral part of the Staff Leadership Team in the ongoing life and development of the church.
Submit monthly ministry reports to Co-Pastors. This will also serve as the report to the board that will be included in the board notes.
Cooperate fully with church leaders for the good of the church.
Consult Co-Pastors on plans and policies before implementation.
Annual performance reviews will be conducted prior to the start of the new church year.
Participate in pastoral functions outside of primary role as assigned by the Co-Pastors (i.e. staff meetings, pastoral care, preaching, teaching, facility maintenance, set-up/tear-down for church events, etc…)
BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION
Maintain an authentic & growing walk with Jesus Christ through the ongoing spiritual disciplines of Bible reading, prayer, personal worship, fellowship, etc.
Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit as you lead all areas.
Protect the reputation and integrity of others through strict confidentiality.
Participate in local church activities and functions.
Attend all board meetings.
Participate in district events and training when made available.
Pursue the necessary and required educational requirements for local, district, and general church.
Support and promote the church’s overall mission.
Worship Pastor
Purpose and Vision
· Serve as the primary worship leader for Danville First (DFC).
· Serve God and the vision of DFC as given by the Co-Pastors.
· Make every effort to bring the vision of DFC to life.
Leading and Developing Others
· Build, direct, coordinate, and develop the praise team at DFC.
· Oversee the worship ministry at all DFC events.
· Ensure the team members are equipped and prepared to perform with excellence.
· Lead weekly rehearsals for the praise team and schedule team members as needed.
· Provide chord charts, MP3s, and other necessary elements for the praise team each week.
· Pastor, coach, disciple, and care for all praise team volunteers. Equip members for the work of the ministry. Including all technical aspects of the worship services, such as supervision of the sound, lighting, video, and ProPresenter technicians.
· Provide leadership and oversight for VBS worship and special community and district events.
Creative Planning
· Communicate weekly with Co-Pastors..
· Participate in a weekly staff meeting.
· Assist in the overall planning of services and be responsible for the selection and leadership of the music.
· Prepare ProPresenter for weekly services.
· Stay current with contemporary worship music and implement new songs regularly. The goal is to introduce a new song approximately every 6 to 8 weeks.
· Track schedule of worship songs to keep weekly sets of music fresh.
· Collaborate and create Sunday morning media packages.
· Seek ways to improve the overall effectiveness of the worship experience.
Family Life Pastor
Purpose and Vision
· Provide leadership and guidance for all Children and Family Ministries at DFC.
Children and Family Ministries
· Oversee all aspects of the Children and Family Ministries, including programming, curriculum, events, and outreach.
· Train and support volunteers who serve in family ministry, ensuring compliance with Ministry Safe training and background checks.
· Coordinate with other ministry areas of the church to provide integrated support to families.
· Assist with the planning of events, such as retreats, camps, and service projects.
