Worship Leader

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Worship Leader to join our church team.  This person, as part of collaborative effort, will work to ensure that our worship services are engaging and meaningful for our members / attenders, inspiring them to deepen their spiritual journey.

Worship Leader Duties and Responsibilities

·      Plan and lead weekly worship services and special events, working with the Lead Pastor to facilitate engaging Worship services in the power of the Holy Spirit.
·      Select appropriate music to lead the congregation in as a part of the overall worship experience.  This will be done through songs, prayer, and Scripture reading.
·      Working, along with the Music Committee, to establish and manage a praise team.  The Worship leader will coordinate worship team rehearsals.
·      Meet and work with the Choir Director to coordinate the choir’s participation in the worship services.  The Choir Director and Choir are under the Worship leader’s supervision.
·      Attend staff meetings and participate in the planning and implementation of church programs that will fulfill the mission and vision of the church to Love God and to Love People within our church and our surrounding community.
·      Understand that Crossville Nazarene is a multi-generational congregation and is committed to a blended worship style (contemporary songs / hymns).
·      Work with the Choir Director and Music Committee to prepare and submit the Music Ministry budget to the Finance Committee.  The Music Committee consists of: The Worship Leader, the Choir Director, the musicians, and the coordinator of the Sound / Video team.
·      Participate in various church activities, such as Bible studies, small groups, and outreach.
·      Develop and maintain relationships with members of the congregation.
Worship Leader Requirements and Qualifications:

·      Have a passion for worship and spiritual growth
·      Excellent leadership and communication skills
·      Ability to listen to and work collaboratively with other team members – a willingness to be flexible.
·      2+ years of experience leading worship services preferred – but not required depending on the candidate.
·      Proficiency with music (proficiency with musical instruments is a plus), having a knowledge of different styles of music (i.e. traditional, contemporary, gospel).
Other Information:

·      The Worship Leader will be accountable to the Lead Pastor and the Church Board.
·      Starting salary to be based on qualifications and experience.
