Preferred Qualifications/Qualities/Traits/Skills
·     Bachelor’s and/or Graduate Degree in field(s) related to pastoral ministry
·     Ordained in the Church of the Nazarene or similar denomination OR pursuing ordination in the Church of the Nazarene
·     Skilled at networking
·     Adept at Team Building
Expectations:
The Associate Pastor is expected to:
·     Work 5 days per week, including Sunday, except for emergencies and/or special events in which case an additional workday may be needed.
·     Be and active member of CNaz, meaning he/she will:
o  Attend Sunday Morning Worship services regularly, with an allowance of 6 Sunday absences per calendar year
o  Support other ministry areas in the church
o  Regularly attend CNaz events
o  Tithe faithfully
·     Operate in harmony with the CNaz employee handbook and Covenant of Christian Conduct laid out in The Manual of the Church of the Nazarene.
·     Engage in other aspects of Church life to build relationships and minister to those in and around the local community.
·     Be supportive of the district through attendance and promotion of various district events.
Ongoing Duties (Duties include but are not limited to):
·     Serving as the head shepherd at CNaz in the absence of the Lead Pastor
·     Helping to oversee, manage, and support our Connect Groups
·     Supporting, developing, and at times, recruiting, the ministry leaders at CNaz
·     Preaching on Sunday mornings approximately 8-10 times per year
·     Speaking at Wednesday Lebanon Christian School (LCS) Chapels occasionally
·     Supporting the continued development of the CNaz Staff
·     Assisting the Lead Pastor in managing the CNaz Staff when needed
·     Communicating and collaborating with LCS leadership to further develop the partnership between the ministry of the school and the church.
·     Collaborating with fellow CNaz staff in developing effective ways to reach out to the LCS families who have no church home.
·     Leading and facilitating a Connect Group
·     Supporting the CNaz NDI (discipleship) director in managing Wednesday and Sunday morning small groups as well as developing an effective discipleship approach for the congregation
·     Supporting the Lead Pastor in addressing facilities needs and partnering with the building committee, CNaz office admin, and LCS administration to accomplish this.
·     Attend Church Board meetings
·     Uphold and maintain Ministry Safe policies.
·     Organize, develop, and communicate outreach events that draw community families to the church. These can include church families but should focus on those who do not have a church home.
·     Assist the Lead Pastor in a variety of pastoral duties on a weekly or as-needed basis:
o  Facilitating Staff Meetings
o  Making hospital calls and house visits for parishioners
o  Assisting with funerals
o  Assisting with weddings
o  Assist in contacting and following-up with all individuals and families that have visited the church.
o  Regularly connecting with parishioners and new attendees over coffee or meals
o  Assisting with pastoral counseling
o  Assisting with sermon planning and development
o  Collaborating and partnering with the Lead Pastor and Church Board for big-picture and long-term vision and planning
·     Serve as a resource to other staff members and ministries
·     Attend staff meetings and functions as directed
·     Perform other staff duties as required by leadership
