Job Title: Kids Ministry Director/ Children’s Pastor

Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and spiritually mature Kid’s Ministry Director/Pastor to lead our children and family ministries. This leader will cultivate a Christ-centered, safe, and engaging environment where children can encounter God, grow in faith, and build lasting relationships—with strong partnership from parents and volunteers.
This role is both pastoral and strategic—overseeing programs, leading volunteers, and connecting with families, all while aligning with the vision and values of Centralia Nazarene and the Church of the Nazarene.
Qualifications
• Personal experience of salvation, baptism, and sanctification in Jesus Christ
• A lifestyle aligned with the Articles of Faith and Covenants of the Church of the Nazarene
• Currently working towards District Licensed
• Experience working with children and families (ministry or education preferred)
• Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required)
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteers effectively
• Emotional intelligence and relationship-building skills
• Proficiency in or willingness to learn tech tools (Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Planning Center, ProPresenter, etc.)
This position should also anticipate the following prior to hiring:
• A criminal background check
• A reference check
• Interview process including staff, and interview team.
• Participation in a strength finders (or equivalent) assessment
Key Responsibilities
Ministry Development
• Lead Sunday morning programming and seasonal events
• Implement curriculum and spiritual growth opportunities
• Maintain clean, organized, and age-appropriate ministry environments
Volunteer Leadership
• Recruit, equip, schedule, and encourage children’s ministry volunteers
• Ensure all team members follow church safety and background protocols
Family Engagement
• Partner with parents in the discipleship of their children
• Communicate regularly and effectively through print, digital, and social platforms
• Plan occasional events for parents and families
Outreach & Community Impact
• Create welcoming, outreach-driven events for kids and families
• Represent the ministry at district-wide children’s events
Administration & Collaboration
• Develop and manage the ministry budget
• Attend weekly staff meetings and regular check-ins with the Lead Pastor
• Submit monthly board reports and an annual ministry report
• Collaborate with other ministry leaders on all-church events and transitions into youth ministry
Working Relationships
• Reports to: Lead Pastor
• Regularly collaborates with: Youth Pastor, Worship & Connections Pastor, Sr. Adult Pastor, Support Staff, and volunteers
