Job Description: Lead Youth Pastor
Classification: Full Time

Position Summary:
The Lead Youth Pastor will lead and organize an effective youth ministry, implementing fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism. The overall objective of the Youth Pastor is to make Christ-like disciples, and then train and mobilize them to make Christ-like disciples.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Build a strong and vibrant youth ministry within the BFC community, rooted in the BFC values and practices
2. Provide leadership, pastoral care, coaching, and direction to BFC Youth Ministry
3. Recruit, train and shepherd staff and volunteer leaders
4. Serve on the BFC pastoral leadership team

1. Build a strong and vibrant youth ministry within the BFC community, rooted in the BFC values and practices.

+Plays a key role in creating worship opportunities which guide students into relationship with God.
+Model and foster being with God in a one-on-one time with Him.

+Oversees opportunities for students to have discipleship and accountable relationships with each other.
+Participates personally in a small group.
Being With People Who Don’t Know Jesus
+Lead an “open arms” culture of invitation within BFC Youth that reaches students outside the BFC Community.
+Personally develop trusted, redemptive relationships with others outside the BFC community.
Living generously
+Foster a BFC Youth culture in which students serve.
+Create avenues and opportunities for students to serve inside and outside the church.
+Teach and live a generous sharing of resources and tithing.
2. Provide leadership, pastoral care, coaching, and direction to BFC Youth Ministry
+Leads valuable and productive BFC Youth Staff meetings.
+Implements and executes the vision of BFC Youth.
+Leads with grace and responsibility when handling ministry related issues.
3. Recruit, train and shepherd staff and volunteer leaders
+Holds regular and meaningful partnership meetings with youth staff and lay leaders; guides their goal setting and helps them reach their ministry goals.
+Commits to timely checkups and documentation.
+Actively recruit and train volunteer leaders to serve in BFC Youth.
+Regularly celebrates the service of volunteers.
4. Serve on the BFC pastoral leadership team
+Participate in the evaluation and development of the overall church ministry.
+Assist with staff pastor responsibilities including serving as the on-call pastor, hospital visits, responding to individuals in crisis, etc.
+Develop and stewards the BFC Youth budget.
+Serves as the voice and advocate for BFC Youth in the larger church context.
Qualifications and Position Requirements:
+Exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God, a teachable spirit, and a healthy personal life.
+Strong biblical and theological background;
+Has a high level of Administrative and organizational skills to ensure effective programming, communication, and execution.
+Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field (ordination or in process preferred), experience in ministry, basic administrative skills, and a personal spiritual life congruent with biblical mandates for leaders (1 Timothy 3:1-7); is committed to continual learning.
+Self-motivated leader; demonstrates ability to create and execute a long-term vision for youth ministry.
+Ability to work well in a team oriented environment; and has a strong desire to coach and lead others to achieve their ministry goals.
+Called to ministry and service; strong relationship capability; has a passion for reaching people for Christ.
+Self-starter, decision-maker and capable of directing others and implementing projects within a team.
+Is in agreement with Church of the Nazarene Statement of Faith
+Lives a lifestyle in full agreement with the Church of the Nazarene Covenant of Christian Conduct and Covenant of Christian Character.
