Children’s Pastor

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an individual with lots of energy and a passion for children and their families. This may be someone who is looking to fulfill his/her ordination requirements in the Church of the Nazarene.

By all means, this person must agree with the Doctrine of The Church of the Nazarene.

JOB SUMMARY

The Children’s Pastor shall serve as a Program Pastor at Archer Nazarene Church and shall fulfill the responsibilities of the minister in the spirit of I Timothy 3:2-7. Major responsibilities will be in the area of teaching children, administration of the children’s departments and pastoral care to the children’s family. If this person desires, they may also fill the Pulpit on Sundays when the pastor is away.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create a high-impact children’s ministry to K-6th graders that is creative, fun, and biblical. Encourage children to become active followers of Jesus Christ, sharing their faith with others and discovering ways to serve in the church and community.

2. Work with children’s ministry volunteers to provide pastoral care and spiritual leadership to children.

3. Create or locate appropriate curriculum for children K-6th grade.

4. Manage the children’s ministry budget.

5. Lead training events for children’s ministries.

6. Plan the annual children’s ministry calendar.

7. Attend regular staff meetings with Lead Pastor.

SPECIAL/SEASONAL EVENTS

1. Plan special children’s ministry events for outreach and community service

COMPENSATION

1. The position is Part-Time, 20 hours per week.

2. Compensation is based on experience and education.
