Job Purpose:

Park Lane Church of the Nazarene is looking for a team-oriented leader to join our staff with a passion for youth ministry and worship ministry. They will work closely with the Lead Pastor to provide opportunities for spiritual growth for all age groups but will work primarily with middle and high school youth (grades 6-12).

Our goal is to find someone who is responsible for oversight, design, management, and leadership in the ministering to students as well as lead the congregation in authentic worship. Someone who can coordinate with volunteers and the pastoral team in outreach to the local community and effective discipleship of the Park Lane Church congregation.

Qualified candidates will:

• Have a clear call to these ministries and are interested in growing their theological understanding to better equip their calling.
• Model a high standard in the areas of relationships, commitment, follow-through, and responsible living.
• Exhibit a teachable spirit, is a team-player, and is respectful of others.
• Work with the lead pastor in developing strategies for communicating Park Lane’s mission, message, and values to the congregation and our local community.

Youth Pastor Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee designated groups within the ministry, specifically assisting the directors and/or volunteers in youth ministry.
• Coordinate the church calendar with the student ministries calendar and communicate with all volunteers involved.
• Organize student ministries for service and involvement in worship, witness, ministry, and fellowship activities.
• Encourage youth to participate in local, zone, and district activities.
• Give guidance and direction to all students helping them to see God’s call on their lives.

Worship Pastor Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of volunteers who make up the church’s praise team and sound/media team in creating an atmosphere of worship during the weekly service.
• Schedule and lead regular rehearsals with the praise and sound/media teams.
• Responsible for the selection of songs each week for Sunday morning worship, working with the lead pastor to coordinate music that follows the theme of the sermon.
• Help to find, encourage, and mentor new volunteers to worship ministries.
• Keep track of the music department’s needs regarding equipment, licensing, and budget.

Qualifications:

• Ordained in the Church of the Nazarene or in the process of ordination.
• A degree in theology, religious studies, youth ministry, worship ministry, or a related field, is preferred.
• 3 years ministry experience as a youth, associate, or worship pastor, is also preferred.
• Avid technical know-how to facilitate avenues of the church’s social media.
