Youth Pastor and/or Worship Pastor

Position Overview:

Lewiston First Church of the Nazarene (FirstNaz) is seeking a Christ-centered, team-oriented leader to join our pastoral staff with a focus in Youth Ministry, Worship Ministry, or both—depending on the candidate’s calling and gifting. Priority will be given to candidates who are able to lead and equip strong lay ministry teams in both areas.

Our goal in hiring pastoral staff is to equip and empower volunteers. We believe pastors are called not to do all the ministry themselves, but to develop and mobilize the body of Christ for shared service and leadership.

We’re Looking For A Staff Member Who:

• Has a clear call to ministry and is actively pursuing theological education or training and opportunities to fulfill the call
• Is a humble servant leader—just as willing to stack chairs as to preach a sermon
• Is motivated, dependable, and passionate about working with people
• Thrives on collaboration, and seeks to support the broader mission of FirstNaz

Areas of Responsibility (based on gifting and call):

Youth Ministry:

• Partner with volunteers to sustain and grow a dynamic youth ministry
• Communicate regularly with youth and families
• Engage students in relational discipleship and provide tools for faith at home
• Connect youth to district-level NYI (Nazarene Youth International) events and community
• Invest in the leadership development of teens and young adults

Worship Ministry:

• Lead a team of volunteer musicians and tech staff to plan and lead worship
• Coordinate rehearsals, tech prep, song selection, and service planning
• Collaborate with the broader staff and volunteers to create meaningful, Spirit-led worship
• Develop and mentor emerging worship leaders and tech team members
• Oversee equipment needs, licensing, and upkeep in partnership with volunteers

Accountability & Growth:

• Monthly written reports to the church board
• Self-evaluations at 3, 6, and 12 months, reviewed with Lead Pastor
• Ongoing support and evaluation to help you thrive in ministry

Compensation & Benefits:

• Salary: Commensurate with experience
