Job Title: Pastor of Student Discipleship
Location: Mustang Church of the Nazarene (Mustang Naz), Mustang, OK
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Position Type: Full-Time (40 Hours)
Overview
The Pastor of Student Discipleship at Mustang Naz is a vital role focused on cultivating a vibrant and dynamic discipleship program for middle school through college students. This position requires a passionate leader committed to making the love of Jesus known to everyone, everywhere, every day. The ideal candidate will be able to connect with young people, nurture their spiritual growth, and integrate them into Mustang Naz’s broader vision.

Vision Implementation
Align student ministry initiatives with Mustang Naz’s overall vision: “Making the Love of Jesus Known to Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day.”
Everyone
Serves in a culture of invitation, encouraging diversity in Student Discipleship.
Leads from a personal passion for being with God and creates a safe space for everyone to discover the love of Christ.
Creates community with students and sponsors by mentoring members spiritually.
Everywhere
Models being with God in one-on-one time with Him; relies on a dedicated time of personal formation as the basis for Spirit-led Student Discipleship.
Consistently expand their personal knowledge by seeking out new and different ministry resources from what they already know.
Seeks out and engages others, finding ways to connect with new people “where they are.”
Every Day
Lives generously and exhibits a lifestyle of service to God and others.
Actively participates in MCN group life for support and accountability.
Develop and execute a comprehensive discipleship strategy for students, including worship, small groups, outreach, and service opportunities.
Leadership and Administration
Lead, mentor, and equip a team of volunteer leaders to minister to students effectively.
Plan and oversee weekly communication pieces, student gatherings, Bible studies, and special events.
Manage the student ministry budget, ensuring wise stewardship of resources.
Student Engagement
Build meaningful relationships with students, encouraging them in their faith journey.
Provide pastoral care, counseling, and support to students and their families.
Create a welcoming environment where all students feel welcomed and valued.
Teaching and Preaching
Deliver engaging and relevant messages that inspire students to grow in their faith.
Develop and implement an age-appropriate curriculum that aligns with the church’s theological perspectives. (Wesleyan)
Outreach and Evangelism
Organize and lead outreach events connecting with unchurched community students.
Encourage students to participate in mission opportunities, both locally and globally.
Collaboration
Work closely with other church staff to ensure cohesive ministry efforts.
Participate in regular staff meetings, contributing to the overall health and growth of the church.
Qualifications
Must complete Ministry Safe Training and Background Check Procedures
A vibrant and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Ministry, or a related field (transcript required)
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in student ministry or a related field.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to connect with students and foster an inclusive, welcoming environment.
Commitment to the doctrinal standards of the Church of the Nazarene and pursuing ordination.

Hiring Pre-requisites
· Must be eligible to work in the United States and available during hours necessary for job responsibilities.
· Must complete Ministry Safe Training and Background Check Procedures
· Must provide a transcript for all relevant post-secondary education. (I.E. College Transcript)
