The Ark Daycare & Preschool Ministry is an established ministry that has been providing quality childcare since 1987! We are located within the Middletown Church of the Nazarene. We strive to operate an excellent Christian program that values teamwork, integrity and loyalty. Job Responsibilities of our Director:
● Lead in effective operation and management of the Ark programs and licensing regulations (Indiana CCDF), ensuring compliance
● Manage budgets, monitor compliance and supervise day-to-day operations (i.e. client recruitment/enrollment, fee management, proper ratios)
● Direct the implementation of the curriculum
● Ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment for children at all stages of development
● Maintain records, including student files, staff schedules and other required documents
● Collaborate with our families, while addressing concerns and building relationships
● Execute staff meetings and professional development activities
● Recruit, train, inspire and lead our team members
● Report directly to the Ark advisory board (prepare monthly reports)
Applicant Requirements:
● Minimum of 21 years of age
● Strong communication, leadership and organizational skills
● Pass a background check
● CPR and First Aid certification (can be obtained after hire)
● Minimum of 2 years experience in an administrative role in a licensed childcare facility
● Knowledge of licensing requirements
● Ability to work between the hours of 6:30am and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday
Education Requirements:
● A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in early childhood education or elementary education -or-
● Any Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree along with one (1) of the following
○ Fifteen (15) credit hours in college level courses with documented content related
to the skills, needs, development or teaching methods of children
○ A CDA (Child Development Associate) -or-
● A two (2) year associate degree in early childhood education with experience in early childhood education
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to lift 50 lbs
● Can move quickly in emergencies
● Active engagement in the classroom environment with bending, standing and walking
