Fallon, Nevada is a small city community of about 9,300 people surrounded by the
natural beauty of Carson Lake to the South and Lohontan State Park to the west. It is
known for being home to the Naval Airbase to the southeast of the city.
Fallon Church of the Nazarene has been a pillar in the community for 78 years and has
a reputation of a church that is reaching families with the gospel. As a church of over 60
regular attendees, we are seeking a person deeply devoted to God who can lead us to
grow both measurably and qualitatively, as we seek to be a light in our community.
Fallon Church is seeking a senior pastor to exercise general oversight of our local
church, its ministry, and functions. Fallon Church pastors are responsible for the
spiritual growth of the church, for the implementation of church discipline, and for
watching over the souls of the members. The primary qualities and duties are as
follows:
1. A deep devotion to the Lord as a disciple of Jesus.
2. A district licensed or ordained elder/deacon in the Church of the Nazarene with a
faithful commitment to our doctrine and polity.
3. A commitment to ministry in the community with a heart for evangelism
4. A solid preacher of the word of God with a passion for making disciples of Jesus.
5. A humble heart with the ability to lead and develop leaders.
6. A teachable spirit
7. A team player willing to engage in the greater ministry of the Church of the Nazarene
8. A model of stewardship and accountability.
9. Takes appropriate responsibility for the health and growth of the church.
10. Skilled communicator who handles Scripture responsibly and inspires people to
action.
11. Naturally connects and relates with people from varied walks of life.
12. A leader whom others will follow.
