Faith Church of the Nazarene
Youth/ Young Adult Minister
The Faith Church of the Nazarene in Parish, NY, seeks a part-time youth/young adult minister. This is a trial ministry of 1 year with an opportunity for renewal for the following year.
We are seeking someone either on the ministry track through the Church of the Nazarene or is committed to pursuing the ministry track with the Church of the Nazarene.
Responsibilities Include:
Leading youth/young adult Sunday School class (ages 12 -25)
Engagement of youth and young adults in Upstate NY district events
Engage youth/young adults with Brooktondale Nazarene Camp.
Preach 1 time a month for Sunday Morning Worship Service.
Lead and establish a workable youth Group.
Engage with youth and young adults in the Parish Community.
Prepare youth events and fundraisers for youth/young adult ministries.
Attend Leadership team meetings bi-monthly. (giving a report)
Report any issues or concerns to the lead pastor.
Salary:
This is a part-time ministry opportunity with an opportunity for growth.
The candidate must be willing to live or be around the community of Parish NY (No parsonage or stipend for housing yet), or regularly commute to the Parish community. (If commuting, you must attend Sundays, youth group nights, and special event days).
The Salary for the first year is $210 per week for an annual income of $ 10,920.
The congregation is very welcoming and supports their pastor.
Being part-time and being reliable is necessary. (it helps with outreach and interaction with the community)
Requirements:
Must pass a background check via Ministry Safe.
Must be on the ministry track to become a deacon (ness), an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene, or a willing commitment to pursue a certificate as a deacon (ness) or ordination with the Church of the Nazarene. Upholding all attributes and characteristics of the Church of the Nazarene found in the Nazarene Manual.
Must preach heart holiness and have a teachable spirit.
Must set safety boundaries with youth and young adults.
Must be respectful and committed to the ministries at the Parish Faith Church.
A desire to minister to the 12-25 age group.
