Youth Pastor

Overview

Responsibilities (Youth Pastor) 

Overseeing, growing, and coordinating the church’s Youth Ministry.
Leading middle and high school students to encourage their spiritual growth.
Work in biblical unity with fellow pastors, staff, and volunteers, as well as exhibiting a cooperative and helpful attitude toward the greater overall mission.
Attending and participating in regular staff meetings.
Overseeing, examining, and/or designing curriculum for all youth programs, events, and classes.
Interacting with students during Sunday services, instilling a passion in them for worship.
Developing positive relationships with students and their parents.
Driving the church van (with one other adult volunteer sponsor) before and after Wednesday night services for Youth and Children.
Leveraging social media to help communicate the Gospel and highlight the work of God in and through the church.
Displaying a Christ-like approach, lifestyle, and praying regularly for young people in the church and community.
Incorporating youth into various church ministries for His use.
Leading students to live out of a Biblical worldview and a deepening desire to learn, love and live out God’s word at every level
Occasional Preaching opportunities in weekly corporate worship services

Qualifications (Youth Pastor)

Must be in whole-hearted agreement with the doctrines of the Church of the Nazarene.  Someone who is Ordained, pursuing Ordination, District Licensed, or willing to obtain a Local License with intent to become District Licensed is preferred.
Proficient understanding of the challenges young people face and the ability to listen and respond with compassion
An authentic, growing, deepening relationship with the Lord
Integrity and purity of heart
Effective, engaging communicator.  Both public speaking and interpersonal communication
High organizational skills and knowledge of how to effectively lead people
Leadership development skills

Free parsonage home on the church property (equal to $1200-1500/mo rental value)
