Family Outreach Pastor, Youth, Children/Kids
Need:
Family Outreach Pastor – Grace Community Church of the Nazarene (Nicholasville, KY)
Compensation:
3 bed, 1 bath home at 701 Shun Pike, Nicholasville, KY 40356
Home has all new quality flooring and fresh paint, new cabinetry in kitchen area, equipped with all appliances including washer & dryer.
Responsibilities:
Working in cooperation with the Sr. Pastor to direct and/or oversee all youth and children’s ministries, engaging their families as Christ’s Ambassador.
Context:
We are a small, healthy Nazarene congregation. We average fifty worshippers on any given Sunday with room to grow. We need someone to organize a children’s church (K-5th) for Sunday mornings. Once established, I am convinced this ministry will grow quickly.
We currently bus in twenty-two (avg.) children and thirteen (avg.) teenagers every Wednesday evening from 7-8:15p. Nearly all of these dear souls come from broken, unchurched homes. Many of these would come on Sundays if they had a person(s) able to invest time and prepare a space suitable for them. It is vital we continue sowing Gospel seed into these young hearts. This year alone, we had twenty children, and six teens profess faith in Christ for a first time. The fields are ripe for harvest, but the workers are limited. Without parental support in their homes, these young people have the spiritual cards stacked against them. We currently have six adults volunteering their time and energy each week for the purpose of loving these young people and sharing Christ.
Our Sr. Pastor has been with us for nearly nine years. We had a youth pastor who began with us during his studies at Asbury University and continued serving for six years. He has gone on now to be a lead pastor on our KY District.
Requirements:
We need someone in love with Jesus. We need someone called by GOD to serve in Nicholasville. We need someone with an anointing of the Spirit to preach the Word and teach young people; someone with a heart for the Church, a Biblical world-view, a confidence in Scripture, and a desire to grow spiritually themselves.
Final Thought:
Our Sr. Pastor has an M.Div from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a D.Min from Nazarene Theological Seminary. While we value education and the formation and tools we gain through our studies, the reality is this: Seminary doesn’t teach us how to pastor, the Church does. We hope you will continue your studies with one foot in the Academy and one foot in the Church. We are praying for you now!
