What Prairie Heights is looking for:
An experienced Pastor who can meet people where they are and connect them to Christ and a church family. We are seeking a leader who has experienced the life changing power of Jesus Christ and understands the transformation of living that out in authentic community. This person must be able to collaborate and support the vision of the Lead Pastor and be able to carry the vision with passion as they lead staff and leaders at Prairie Heights to become fully alive in who God created them to be.
This person must be a leader of leaders and enjoy bringing others along into ministry. We are seeking a developer and equipper of people versus someone to do all the tasks. This person must have strong interpersonal skills and be someone who can proactively care for our church family both one-on-one and through volunteer teams. The Connections Pastor will be responsible for leading and providing vision for Spiritual Growth, from first time guests to the fully connected Prairie Heighter. The Connections Pastor will oversee staff leaders in Guest Services, Care, Outreach and Groups.
What will you do?
Spiritual Growth:
- Provide leadership, strategy, and direction for Spiritual Growth (18+) at Prairie Heights that aligns with the Lead Pastor’s vision
- Lead, equip and develop Connections staff and leaders into spiritually mature followers of Jesus
- Oversee the spiritual, leadership, and professional growth of all direct reports
- Recruit, train, and empower volunteer leaders and volunteers for department roles with a strong emphasis in supporting our Groups strategic model and leadership
- Lead spiritual growth programming, including PH Connect and Launch
- Lead and execute Believer Baptism, Yes! To Christ process, and all other spiritual growth events
Pastoral Care:
- Provide vision, strategy, and direction for Care Ministry
- Oversee and participate in pastoral duties including weddings, funerals, hospital visits, and careline
- Recruit, train and empower volunteer leaders and volunteers for Care Ministry
- Oversee and direct strategy and execution for Servilization (outreach) to serve the community
- Partner and develop a Missions strategy that aligns with the Lead Pastor’s vision
Ministers in Training and Nazarene District Representative:
- Create and implement sustainable processes for Prairie Heights Ministers in Training (MIT) programEquip and empower MITs in pastoral growth, including spiritual growth, education, licensure, and care
- Lead and coordinate all Nazarene District Events for PH Staff
- Facilitate on-site MIT classes as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Committed Follower of Jesus
- Ordained Pastor or in a pastoral track
- 5 years of pastoral experience including care, development, spiritual direction, and mentorship
- Successful history of building, leading, and growing effective teams
- Demonstrated experience carrying a vision, creating goals, and measuring growth
- Self-directed with ability to manage multiple projects successfully
- Excellent communication skills; interpersonal, written, and verbal
- Ability to develop short-and-long range strategies to achieve departmental objectives and identify opportunities for future growth.
- Ability to exercise sound, expert independent judgement within general policy guidelines
- Commitment to the process of emotional health and spiritual maturity in all areas of their life
Preferred Qualifications:
- History of leading in a large church or large organization (1,000+)
- Experience teaching or communicating in front of audiences
- Educational background that includes human development, ministry-related, spiritual formation and/or counseling
- Bachelor’s Degree

Prairie Heights church is a large church (around 1,500 weekly attendance) located in West Fargo, North Dakota.
