PURPOSE STATEMENT:
“The purpose of this ministry position is to help fulfill the Mission of Bethel Church of the Nazarene by serving as pastor to mid-high youth and their families.”
REPORTS TO:
Senior Pastor
Church Board – Provide Monthly Written Report to Church Board
RESPONSIBILITIES:
o A pastor to youth and their families. The primary responsibility will be to focus on ministry to age groups from 6th grade through 8th grade.
o A counselor to teens and their families. The opportunity to give clear biblical counsel will be available as the teens share the moral dilemmas they face.
o An educator who provides a variety of learning experiences for youth to understand and apply the truth of God’s word.
o An administrator who can organize and implement plans for effective ministry.
o A recruiter who can organize a team of volunteers to assist with the teen ministry.
JOB DUTIES:
o To supervise the Christian education program for mid-high teens
o To work together with the youth pastor on unified teen services and events
o To be the primary teacher who teaches the truth of God’s word to the mid-high teens
o To plan and administer all mid-high teen events
o To prepare and administer a budget for mid-high ministry
o To recruit, train, and encourage all volunteers for this ministry
o To develop dynamic programs for mid-high teens on Wednesdays
o To participate with the youth Sunday School program on Sundays
o To plan and administer all fund-raising events for this ministry
o To plan and administer ministry projects for this ministry
o To attend all meetings assigned by the lead pastor
o To work together with the pastoral staff on shared ministry projects
o To attend all worship services unless special arrangements have been made with the lead pastor
o To communicate often and clearly with parents of mid-high teens about scheduled activities
o To promote and be involved in district NYI events in accordance with senior pastor’s direction
o Other duties as directed by Senior Pastor
