Job Title: Worship Leader
Full-Time Position
Location: Goshen Campus — Goshen, IN
Reports to: Executive Director for Creative Arts
Position Summary
The Worship Leader is a key leader in creating meaningful, engaging, and Christ-centered worship experiences at the Goshen Campus. This role combines spiritual leadership, musical excellence, team development, creative planning, and production oversight to help people encounter God and take their next step in their faith. The Worship Leader will lead and develop a passionate team of volunteers, prepare and lead weekly worship services, and collaborate with pastors and creative leaders to continually elevate the worship experience at Crossroads.
Key Responsibilities
Weekend Services & Worship Leadership
- Lead the Worship Team for weekly weekend services at the Goshen Campus, providing clear musical, spiritual, and organizational leadership
- Prepare and plan worship services by selecting songs that align with the weekly themes, sermon content, and special elements established by the Lead Pastor
- Maintain worship planning and preparation 4–6 weeks ahead using Planning Center and MultiTracks Chart Builder
- Schedule band and vocal teams for weekend services and special gatherings through Planning Center
- Play an instrument as needed or desired during worship services
- Develop and maintain plans for qualified team members to lead in the event of approved absences or vacation weekends
- Occasionally lead worship for special services and events, including Good Friday, Worship Nights, large church gatherings, and Crossroads Recovery
- Collaborate with Worship Staff across all campuses to establish and implement the vision for Crossroads Worship while maintaining consistency and excellence among worship teams.
- Participate in creative planning for worship services, sermon series, and special experiences as a member of the Creative Team
Team Development & Oversight
- Recruit, develop, and retain members of the worship and vocal teams, intentionally building healthy and effective teams
- Facilitate auditions and evaluate potential worship team members based on musical ability, character, spiritual maturity, and team fit
- Oversee the onboarding and integration of new worship team members
- Identify, develop, and empower leaders within each worship team position
- Provide spiritual direction, pastoral support, encouragement, and care to Worship and Production Team members
- Foster a worship culture characterized by spiritual maturity, excellence, humility, preparation, teamwork, and servant leadership
Production & Room Experience
- Oversee weekly ProPresenter preparation, including worship lyrics, backgrounds, graphics, announcement loops, sermon notes, host moments, and other service-related media
- Oversee the development and implementation of lighting sets for weekend services
- Establish and maintain standards for the overall worship-room experience and provide direction for other ministries utilizing the worship space
- Partner with the Creative Arts Director to develop strategies and systems that continually advance Crossroads’ worship culture and production value
- Contribute to the development of the overall weekend experience, including room atmosphere, lighting, visuals, camera shots, online experience, and audio quality both in-room and online
- Continuously develop knowledge and proficiency in video production, including cameras, lighting, audio, and related technologies, with the goal of helping Crossroads produce high-quality video content in-house

- Team Development: Skilled at recruiting, onboarding, developing, and empowering volunteers and emerging leaders
- Pastoral Leadership: Ability to provide spiritual direction, encouragement, care, and support to worship and production team members
- Planning & Organization: Highly organized with the ability to plan multiple weeks ahead, manage schedules, meet deadlines, and execute services effectively
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with pastors, staff, creatives, production teams, and volunteers
- Creative & Strategic Thinking: Ability to contribute creative ideas and develop strategies that strengthen worship culture and the overall weekend experience
- Technical & Production Skills: Working knowledge of and/or the ability learn Planning Center, MultiTracks, ProPresenter, lighting, audio, video, cameras, and other worship production technologies
- Excellence & Adaptability: Strong attention to detail, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing needs and unexpected situations
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma, Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Experience in Worship Ministry or Creative Arts a plus
Work Environment
- Fast-paced, collaborative ministry environment that requires flexibility, creativity, and strong teamwork
- Primarily serves in a church and worship setting, including weekend services, rehearsals, meetings, and special events
Regular interaction with pastors, staff, volunteers, musicians, vocalists, production teams, and congregants - Weekend and occasional evening availability is required
- Hands-on environment involving musical equipment, technology, lighting, audio, and other production elements
Salary Range
Competitive and commensurate with experience.
